I believe Nathan and Berman's (Noel Howard) sourced out help from Peter(Wested) for the jacket.

Yep, and what is strange for me is to see the Bermans and Nathan label on a Star Wars item when I'm so used to associating the name with original Indy items.

Yep, Peter was just a sub-contractor for B&N when the IJ movies were made, so their label is the one that appears in the material. Regard! Michaelson

Hey, check out the collar stand on this one- it goes all the way out to the storm flap- exactly like the Raiders jacket! I guess my Wested HH is screen-accurate after all! :D

Wow, a piece of history. I would have guessed that it was a replica due to the distressing. Looks way too heavy...

I was thinking the same thing Rick  .

The distressing looks "too Hollywood" & I don't recall Ford's LC jacket looking "that" distressed....It must be a stunt jacket I'm guessing.

Also, it looks like a nice brown color. I always thought that the LC jacket looked VERY dark as compared to the first two movies, it's good to see that they all look pretty close in color to one another, as well...

Kindest Regards,
Captain D

I always thought that the jacket was distressed the heaviest in LC. It was more noticeable to me in LC than the other two movies. I always figured the reason for it was that since it was supposed to have occurred two years after Raiders, they distressed it more so that it would appear that Indy had been wearing it often since 1936, and it was showing more distressing.

That's true, Bufflehead.
But as said above, I think the distressing is way too havy. Especially if you look at the sewings.

Jens

There is always Brown Pecards

It reminds me of a story I read about a national park that cleared some brush out of the way and exposed some rocks. The problem is the natural rocks looked too fake. The park painted them to look more realistic.

It does have Ford's name on it though. Hmmmmmm...

The collar on that jacket seems too pointy. In the film it looks more rounded. My Wested doesn’t have a collar like that.
Whats up with this jacket?

Forrestal

The collar also looks to small for LC. Maybe its one of the French jackets from ToD? :-k

That's what I was thinking of when I first saw it. And although the LC jacket was heavily distressed, the TOD french jacket was too.

Here's the TOD french jacket for reference Image

Hmmm....after the side by side comparisons. I take my statement back. The pocket size is a giveaway of the different jacket. But it's interesting regarding the collar size. It looks a lot like a current Wested Raiders size.

spome have opined in this forum that the Raiders jacket was the authrentic brown, but all other since were dark brown. this auction page would seem to contradict that assertion.

And, considering the high price tag of $40K-$50K, me thinks I'll stick with my new Wested. At least I'm able to afford to eat after buying it.

Cheers!

Dang, that Jacket is too distressed! I wonder how many Westeds you can buy for $50,000 dollars? :-k

Indiana Wayne: Appoximately 142 in every movie configuration you could come up with. Just about 1 for every 2 or so days of the year.

Cheers!

All good points! Also, I was just thinking...that the collar looked more pointed earlier in the LC movie; and "less" distressed. But, as the film went on, the collar, to me, looked more curved and relaxed; while the jacket became "more" distressed.

In this particular pic of this jacket, it looks quite the opposite.... . Just a thought....

Kin Regards,
Captain D

p.s- I too am with Shadwell55 when he states that he doesn't really see any color differences between the Indy jackets from all three movies. Just different lighting from the three films could have the effect, I suppose...just my 0.2 cents

Agreed. You can tell in this behind the scenes shot from Crusade that it is indeed authentic brown.

Right. The Raiders jacket looked almost like a dull black to me at times onscreen, even though I know it was authentic (as evidenced by the behind the scene footage.) So much so, I considred getting the dark brown. Boy am I glad I didn't.
