Straw Indy hat from Peter's Bros.

A while back when all I was doing was reading posts and doing research I had come across the Peter's Bros Indy hat. This is a great summer hat, abet not too screen acurate it does present well. The only drawback is the crown. The material doesn't quite work for a center dent bash. It leaves it looking way too tall and a bit too sharp edged instead of round and smooth. So, I sat sown with a kettle ap proceded to reshape the crown with more oc a "C crown" shape. That seemed to work quite well and still I was able to preserve the tight front pinch and the straight sides. The color is a dark brown straw that looks almost like the felt as well. All in all a mighty fine Indy summer hat for those that have to have the Indy look but felt is just to dang hot. In future posts I will have some better knowledge and ability to show off some pics.
Live well.

I've been looking at that hat for a while. Does it have a leather sweatband? Be sure to post pics when you can.

Appearantly, Michaelson has seen one in person, so maybe he knows...being the knower of things and all.

The prototype I tried on did last year. Not sure if the production versions do, though.
I have yet to follow thru on ordering one myself. I was working on it last year, but other things kinda of derailed the plans. (durn truck needed work. ) Regards! Michaelson

Why yes it does have a leather ssweat band. The wonderful thing about this hat is the fact of the wind being able to cut through the hat to keep ones mellon cool. The acid test will be a Disneyland trip the 4th of July weekend. should be quite warm then. I would have to say thus far it is quite a nice Indyish hat.
Michaelson, I'd say this wold be a worthy addition to your collection.

Well thank you Luisiana! I wasn too sure how a taller hat would look on me since i have a long face structure. But, from all of the positive comments I guess I can pull off a somewhat tall crown.
Cheers my friends!
