Hi - I hope I am posting this correctly.

It is 8 feet long, 12 plait, amber colored and really gorgeous.

OK, here goes ...
I hope this works:
Here is a pic of my new 8 foot, 12 plait from Bernie Wojcicki:
I know it is not a "purist" whip, but I couldn't resist having Bernie customize the handle with a sterling silver ring engraved with one of my fav Indy lines ... (TOD).
Anyway, I started cracking it this evening ... I think my neighbors probably thought I was preparing for July 4th ... what a blast.

P.S.> If anyone can help me with the Avatar ... I had imported a pic that was too large, then I deleted it, ... I reduced its size - but now I can't load any more Avatars ...[/img]

That is a mighty fine whip. It is very interesting. I like the silver band. It reminds me of the Royal Warrant around a Brigg Umbrella, it has that sanme classiness, as Pagey said. It's neat to see some one do something different within the context of an Indy whip. Well done.
And, if you need help with your avatar, you could forward it to me, Renderking Fisk, or Dalexs. I'm sure VP would help as well.

Thanks Pagey & Hemingway,
Pagey: ANS: I am a beginner at cracking, but I am able to do it consistently already.
Hemingway: Appreciate the comments & thanks for the Avatar offer.
Really enjoy reading your COW posts - learning a lot.

Welcome to the site. I love the look of your whip. Kinda reminds me of a cross between an Indy and a Zorro whip:

It's absolutely beautiful! Very unique for sure.

It's amazing at how a good whip makes all the difference, isn't it? And Bernie is a great whipmaker!
That's a beautiful whip, by the way. I'm not much of a purist anyway! Love the legend on the metal cuff!
Buddy of mine just got a new 8 footer in black from Mike Murphy. He called to burble about it, so it looks like we're not going to setting off fireworks for July 4th either ;-)
Take care, and welcome aboard!

Simon Martin,
Thanks.
Fantastic looking whip ! Great detail and color.
What do you have at the base of your handle?
(Bernie places a silver cap with info. regarding the whip and my name)
How long have you been making whips?
I will have to check out your website.
P.S.> I am having a lot of fun with my new whip.
Still am only able to perform side crack ... but it is a very enjoyable new hobby.

Spooky, that truly is a beautiful whip.
I especially love the sterling silver ring that's been added. A very unique idea and a great quote to boot!

Hi Spooky
At the base of the handle of have a brass tack with my name engraved and the whip No. on it. I have done this right from the very first whip I made. (I have pictures of my first whips (in each type) on my website in Photo Gallery.
Its nearly 3years now since I made my first whip(how the time flies), and I have been doing it full time for just over 1 year.
Bernie only lives an hour away from me, so occasionally I drop in to have a chat. He is always willing to offer some hints to me on whipmaking.
Kind Regards
Simon

Okay, since we're sharing pics of Indy whips with rings on them, here's a pic of a whip I made this spring.
This is the first whip that I made with a ring on it, and the engraving is pretty simple. I personally like how Simon Martin uses the etched rings.
