Wested Raiders just arrived (PIC)

Post by Krzysztof Smigiel »

Hi All,

I'm posting this few words to share with you how happy I am of the fact I got my new Wested!

After I sold my TOD jacket (please click on this link for more details: viewtopic.php?p=126584&highlight=#126584) I was considering to buy either Raiders or Crusade jacket. Finally I placed an order for the first one. I sent to Gemma the following spec:

Style: Raiders Jacket
Leather: Authentic brown goatskin
Lining: Cotton Silesia
Side fastener: Anodised black rectangular slider (buckle)

Special requests:
-no inside pocket
-sleeves slightly tapered
-back panel slightly tapered and extended to action plates
-side straps with X-BOX pattern
-80's style fit

...and this is what I received. Please click on the link to see... http://public.fotki.com/KrzysiekS/raide ... by_wested/

I would like to thank all Wested Leather (especially Gemma) for making my life happier! Thanks VERY much and good luck!!!

Regards,
Krzysiek

PS. The hat I wear is the Peters Bros Custom Fedora.

That is a super nice jacket! The tapered back panel totally makes the jacket look right. (Flightsuits come this way standard). Good job man! Enjoy it!

have a nice day.

Hi,

Thanks a lot! I am glad you like the jacket. It is really amazing! One more time Wested did a great job!

My first impression when I opened the package was that the jacket was heavier than my previous one (lambskin) and a little bit stiffer. However I feel very comfortable wearing it.

As of today I'm not going to distress it. I wait for its natural distressing, though. Certainly I will post more pictures once I wear the jacket some time...

Regards,
Krzysiek

I sold my TOD jacket because it didn't feet me well... I decided to go for a jacket made of goatskin because it is more durable than lambskin.

I can't agree that there are no differences. Maybe pics don't show this but I have noticed many differences from the first time when I saw and put on the jacket...

Looks like you got lucky on this particular jacket, Krzysztof. Looks like Peter and Co. nailed all the details, your back panel lays flat, and it looks to be perfectly fitted.

Looks good! Especially that back panel. That's the #1 thing that sets these jackets apart from any other jacket at 1st glance - and yours looks great. Nice fit too...maybe a bit too close for my taste, but I'm built bigger up top. The 80's fit spec always makes me pause for a moment. I don't think the 80's had anything to do with the slim fit of the jacket - its more to do with the late 30's era.....people were much slimmer then, so the clothing fit different back then. I would geuss the costume designer for Indy had that accounted for..

The fit of the jacket might looks a little bit close but please note I wear a sweater under it... Apart of that, my intention was to have a jacket that would be a close fit and I think it looks that way.

As for the 80's feet I've never thought about it that way... have you ever did any research on this topic? :D
