As some of you may remember a couple of weeks ago I was looking for places in Europe to sell Indy gear. Many of you
guys responded providing useful sources and for this I'm very thankful. In my search I visited many links and I was
about to order a bag from .... when I saw one being sold at eBay. I decided to purchase and when I received it I
surpriced by the fact that the bag although old it was excellent condition, so I asked the former owner if it was a
really a WWII item or if it was based on design of that age and here is his asnwer:"..." When I asked if I could
share this piece of information with others he said:"..." So if anyone outthere is interested in buying a bag maybe
he should consider checking this guy. The guy's name was Adam ... and his nickname at eBay is .... The bag cost me
35 pounds + 5 for postage. Please don't take it wrong and think that I'm trying to promote this guy's items, I'm
just adding my testimony.

Now I have to keep looking for a screen accurate strap and gloves. I already have a leather jacket and i'm planning
on buying an Adventurebuilt and a David Morgan by the end of the year.

I found a box of them when an old Ministry of Defence base near me had a clear out, and they were all in mint unissued condition. They've been in my loft for about four years, because I didn't know about ebay!

He surely is helpful. The strap of the bag on the pics you posted looks very good, where did you get from? Was it completely new or whethered? How much did it cost you?

Sorry guys but i dont think that 35 pounds (without shipping) is a cheap price for a markVII. I know that ebay user, his bags always go far on these prices (35-38£) so i never had the chance to buy anyone but i know he has a lot of MKVII and in good conditions so if you are ready to spend more than 40 pounds (POUNDS!! not dollars or euro) he's the right guy.

PS does anyone know an european source for a leather strap for my mkvii?

Well... I didn't find that word in there, but nevermind.

I'd go ahead and look up a saddle maker or such somewhere near you who can provide you with a strap of the correct dimensions.

The Indiana Dudley straps are very nice and represent good value for money IMO, in fact I own one myself.

But for an inexpensive strap, try posting a wanted ad in the classifieds here. You may just hit lucky.

That's the thing, isn't it... some people see grooved on the strap, others don't. When photo evidence is presented, it usually looks like the above pic

I for one think the grooves are nice, hence my choice of strap. You should decide for yourself whichever you prefer...

I dont think it has "borders" but scandinavia jones is quite right, the straps with it look nice so choose what you prefer

It doesnt they did NOT have borders, it is true they look good, but this is actually your choice, im more of a screen ac guy so....but still if you want to fall to the dark side of the straps its your choice

They do, try zooming the img and ull see the blurrish dark side grooves Or at least i can see em, but today im a bit blind...

Ah, but... yeah, but... MBA Costumes provided bag & strap for the movies, right? And the strap they offered for sale was grooved... so, in essence, a grooved strap would be Noel Howard-accurate...

Where is it written in stone that the strap was smooth, btw?

luckly i never bought from him. Once i tried but he didnt accepted Western Union payment so i gave it up. I remember i asked him where did he get all the bags but i cant remember the answer sorry and my computer is crashed so i cannot look up in my mailbox
