Distressing the "Book of Hours" Picture Frame?

Post by ArizonaBones »

Hi all.

I just bought materials to recreate the frame that holds the picture from the Book of Hours in Dr. Jones Sr.'s study. Any tips for weathering the wood to make it look old and beat up like in the movie? My first plan was to stain it, but from there I'm clueless.

Try staining, then sanding unevenly, then staining again, etc... that way you'll get a more patchy, faded look. ;)

Kind regards,
Indy
