Well I was just browsing the internet as I ususally do when I'm bored looking for anything and well today I ran across a boot that looks almost identical to the Alden boots, with the exception of the front of the boot, now I'm sure no one would want to consider these as a boot they would wear look exactly like Alden's but I think that aside from the front of the boots these are the closest I have ever seen. And if these have been brought up before I apologize, but anyways see for yourself.

Well yeah like I said I didn't think anyone would want to get this boot, but my point I was trying to say was aside from how badly it looks in the front it is the closest I've seen to an Alden boot, it's too bad the front looks so bad too because if the front looked like an Alden itd be a great alternative at half the price.

Hmm...er...I don't know about that. To me those boots aren't even close to Aldens. The Rugged, Deckers, 950's, etc are all closer to the Aldens than those girly man looking things.

Yes I think all pass aswell, perhaps there for the more feminine adventurer.?

Yes yes I know, I don't like the boots either, but as the title said I only thought half the boots looked like Aldens and the back end of the boots looked so much like Alden's I felt I should at least share that these existed, I personally would never buy these, but like I said only half the boot I like. And on another note these are mens boots, as much as I hate to admit it.

In my constant search for boots I actually ordered a pair of these a couple of years ago. I tried them on, walked around the living room, then boxed them up and sent them back. Not at all built for anything other than prancing around. Very thin leather, felt more like vinyl than leather, soles so slippery it was almost dangerous, and they looked abnormally long on the foot with too much curve up at the toe.

Didn't mean to be vague, but I didn't like them.....

These boots do seem to be popular to some. I'm sure they are great, they just weren't to my taste. I believe that President Coolidge wore this boot or something very similar back in the late 20's.

OK, so what's so "girly" about those boots? Virtually every man wore that kind of boots during the first decades of the 20th century.

a fine point it is... I thought you were picking on the lace collars, as they are usually considered the "girly" part of a C17 outfit... not that many "girls" would wear one, but still... so if that's not it, I don't see your point... at all

The boots do not look 'girly' to me. They are not cowboy boot pointy, nor are they high heeled. Is anyone being influenced by the maker name, Stacy Adams?

I'd wear them. As dress shoes, for sure... Probably in black though. I hardly ever see dress boots in Swedish stores these days, only shoes.

Sorry, I disagree with you on this. These look EXACTLY like what was the popular boot style from the mid 1800's up through ww2, right down to the cap toe. This was a great find, in my opinion, and I wouldn't hesitate to wear them myself. Aldens also makes a boot exactly like these, so they're still made today, and must still have a following for Aldens to continue their manufacture. The only problem I DO have with them is they only list D as the narrowest width.....MUCH to wide for most folks feet....well, at least mine. Great looking boot!
