I am looking for a leather flight type jacket, no epaulettes, no gussetts under the arms, not a tight fit, leather collar, somewhat roomy..any suggestions for a quality item?

How about the G-2. It has the gussets, but if its bulit like my issue G-1 then they are not in the way.

What about getting a Jones-style jacket from Wested with tapered sleves?

Does Wested do a jacket with flight type sleeves and waist material? I think I am looking more for that look. I will try to email them but so far I have not had luck with that..if peter reads this maybe he can let me know as well.

I know they've had some troubles, as in even more lately with their email system. You might wanna try sending from a different address aswell. I used a Hotmail one and that worked for me a while back.

also, in my description I don't have an issue with metal gussetts, I was talking about the extra material that the FS jackets seem to have under the arms of the raiders jackets......by swing i think is ok...

Metal gussets? never heard of those before. Are you talking about ventilation grometts? You don't need gussets to install those.

The gusset IS the extra material in the armpit area that allows more over head movement of the arms. Wested can add the same thing to their jackets, as all the stunt jackets had the gussets added.

I tried the FS riaders and hated the gussetts.....hated them enough to never want them on a jacket I would wear. A biswing back is ok...I thought the gussetts were the extra material but wanted to make sure I had the terminology right. FS does have a CWU that now has no gussetts but a bi swing back...so that one may be good....

That was the G-1 Flattery. The G-2 is just a G-1 without the fur collar. They really are comfortable jackets. They have a bi-swing back and gussets. This give the jacket great freedom of movement without ride up.

Unless you're talking about a special order, the Flightsuits CWU leather jacket DOES have gussetts under the arms. See the next to the last specification below:
