I figured its been so long since I been here I should consider myself a newbie all over again. With what company should I get my jacket from? What have I been missing? Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advanced! Begun the Jacket Wars has!

Unless you want to start a flame war, you have to search the archives for the answers. Each company has their highs and their lows.

Wested in my opinion. They are even offering horsehide.

Flightsuits customer service has gone down (word has it) since Dave left, and US Wings has much to be desired in way of products and service.

That being said, as cover, get a Wested. It's the original; it's custom; and, as ITG said, they now have horsehide.

Since I have only ever owned a Wested I can only suggest it!
The jacket looks good, feels good, and is the original Indiana Jones jacket.
What more could you want?

If your post is in jest then go get a disney jacket. If serious I think everyone is right and Wested is the way to go now since Dave Marshall has left flightsuits it doesnt seem to be as custom anymore - I know they wouldn't make an expedition for me and that was when I was visiting the store in person. They said just the sizes I saw on the rack!

Koreana, I would suggest instead of wasting your money on a leather jacket, you should head to your local nursery and pick up a nice shrubbery! Hope this helps!

I've thought about this topic for a long time now and for a first time buyer I would really recommened you go with a Wested. I have a 5 year old pre-distressed cowhide and it's been the best jacket I've ever had. I've often thought about getting a second, lighter jacket for spring and summer wear and have entertained the idea of going with a Flighsuits. The reason being is that I want something different from my Wested, and FS seems like a good alternative. That being said, Wested continues to offer different hides and custom service that can't be matched by any other Indy jacket maker. I find myself waffling on whether or not to go with them again, but for your first jacket, go Wested.

Ok, Wested if you want pefect authentic and fited. Something else if you can settle for decent copy and not fitted to you. If it wasn't for the $200 US Wings sale (that I seemed to be one of the lucky ones) I wouldn't have a jacket at all. I probably would have saved up for the Wested.
