Buttons question

Post by IndyFrench »

Where are you guys getting your replacement buttons for your Cabelas shirts? I want some new ones put on to make it more like Raiders, but I don't know what to look for or where to get them.

Regards,
IF

I printed this picture out so I can take it around to fabric stores. Image

It's from the shirt page on the gear site.

I heard that a good source for our buttons would be like an "Army-Navy" store. Or a military or uniform supply place. I'm thinking that the buttons worn on a summer khaki shirt from either the Navy, USMC, Army, etc. is what you want.

What do you think? Another suggestion is to go to a large fabric store. They usually carry a large assortment of buttons. Make sure to bring a shirt with the buttons you want to match.

Sergei, That is exactly where I picked up mine. I had often wondered if that style was even close and after having them sewn on my shirt I felt like it captured the look I was looking for. Though I know the purist collector will frown, my Indy-style shirt was made from two of the shirts I obtained at our local Army/Navy surplus store back in the mid 80's. The texture and weight of the material suited my needs and I had the epaulets and front pleats added. Just wish I was the same size I was back then!(GRINS)Anyway, just thought I would throw in my 2 cents. Regards.Williamson

Surprisingly, I got my three Indy shirts at Shopko, and they already had the right buttons. You might want to check out the shirts at your retail stores.
