Well my WPG arrived yesterday, and well i was happy and wearing it to a friends house, i start to run and pluff bag breaks by the part of the bag attached of the d-ring.
I already asked a friends mom who has a clothing store and she said there would be no prob, and that this things happen a lot. But i wanted your opinion on this, I already got VP´s
Ps.Still i dont find satisfaction in a product that doesnt hold up 24 hours

Yeah - the hardware looks totally different to the WPG's I hace owned - the snaps seem to be flat. Interesting.
I'd send it back, for sure.

That's not his bag. It's an edited pic from the main site.

I had exactly that problem. Nowhere near that quickly, but I assume mine was caused by the corrosion on the O-Ring sawing through the strap. A new bag should have very smooth O-Rings though.
I went through all of my bags and made sure the rings were free of corrosion as the break always occurs at the worst possible time. Mine was at the top of Mt. Chocorua, I think. I was able to use the 60 year old string that was still on the bag to keep it together.

It would cost me a lot more money to send it back and receive it than to have it repaired by my moms friend, i wanted to know if you think its a serious damage to the bag, and that if it will be repaired without probs

I had one of the internalpockets on my bag rip about a week into having it. I don't even remember how it happened, I just looked in there one day and it was ripped along the seam where the pocket meets the bag. I think when it comes down to it, these are repros, made in Pakistan, while the originals were made with military specs in mind with a bit more care.

Uhm but you guys think they will have probs fixing it??

No, it should be really easy to fix. At the worst you'd have to find some khaki webbing to replace the whole sling. That would be easy to find anywhere. And since it's not supposed to match the bag anyway, you wouldn't have to be that particular with your choice.

My WPG bag had the same problem, but mine was due to the normal diary wear, I simply stitched it again and no problem. It must be disappointing when this happen with a new one,
but as you say, the cost of shipping again the bag from Spain isn't worthwhile. As said Shawnkara, Repair it with thick thread and run again!
Saludos!

Wow, that's interesting I just ordered a WPG bag last week. It has not arrived yet but I guess I'll be giving it a good look over when it does.

My own personal experience with my WPG bag has been positive- I've loaded it with a few pounds of gear for extensive hikes, and it has not broken yet- I believe I've had this bag for about three years.

What i think the prob was, is that it came badly sued up in the first place

The part that breaks teh most for me is the chicago screw. It kept undoing and popping off at the most inoppurtune moments, so I just had press studs put in at the end of the strap.

WPG has a darkish rep in the reenactor world for items that are a bit too mortal. Trouser buttons that fling off of thier own accord, braces that shed thier leather mount, or the metal fastener too easily.
When you corner the market, you can be as beastly as you like, I reckon.

I had an issue with a button hole on a WPG shirt (the manufacturer forgot to place one on the sleeve -could've happened to anybody) and Jerry contacted me through two different methods offering compensation. He took it very seriously and was very upset; much more than I was. He is a very stand up guy and I recommend doing business with him. I am sure he would stand behind this or any of his products. That has been my experience with WPG.

Sorry if I got things mixed, as apparently you have two topics running about the same situation here, and that's how I got them mixed. Sorry about that. You may want to keep THIS one updated, since this is the main string about YOUR situation. Regards. Michaelson

No one's doubting you. I'm just suggesting you keep THIS string updated, as you've buried your situation in the middle of the WPG shirt review. That's all. Michaelson

Yup, when I got mine it had a message in the crown that said:
"This fedora will self-destruct in 15 seconds."

I think having it sewn back together yourself just adds a little more character to the bag. Sort of like instant distressing...
