Post by Mat Cauthon »

Are the officers pinks that Indy wore from the British army or from the U.S.A. army. Or does it make a diffrence??

The officer "pinks" are US Army. I think that What Price Glory might have them? :)

Actually what Indy wore were more along the lines of English riding pants. I know the mainsite says officer's pinks. But I have seen Cavalry Twill more associated with fox hunts and such.

Thoughts?

Yea, I always though that Indy's pants were more along the lines of English Cavalry Twill.

Orvis had some Cavalry twill pants that were near ringers for Indy's pants. The only problem was that they weren't pleated. I don't see them on their web site though. :?

I have a piar of the Orvis officer twill pants. There not pleated, wrong color, but there classic high quality outdoor pants. You can see them in any of the pics of me I've posted. I also have a pair of the field twill pants on the way. I'll let you know about them when they arrive. They also lack the pleats, but I'm more interested in a pair of quality pants that will hold up than I am screen accuracy.

I'm really no sure. The design is like the officer pinks, but the color and material is like the cavalry twill. Although, Orvis say that the cavalry twill is the real name for the officer pinks. So who knows? :?
