I came across this on S&W's website. I know its not exactly like the old HE 2nd Model but I think it would make a very practical close enough gun. (with the addition of the proper grips) I would love to have a vintage HE but I want something I can rely on. I know that the old HE are fine, very reliable revolvers. However, I don't want to run the risk of a 70 year old spring breaking on me when I need it. No, I don't plane on getting in any gun fights with Nazis in Nepal, but a blackbear in WV can be pretty mean.

I read that wrong the first time...I was wondering why a blackbear would be driving a VW, and what would make him so mean? Driving a VW, I guess.
Weaver, how much is that model running? I didn't see it on their page (but I am a bit sleepy, so I probably went right past it).

If you were as big as a blackbear and cramped in a VW you'd be mean too.
No your right, the price isn't on the website. I expect it would be in the $500 or $600 dollar range, but I'm really not sure. It would be comparable or maybe a little cheaper than a good condition vintage HE once you add in the price of a gun smith cutting the barrel.
