Has anyone have pics of a adventurebilt fedora that has not been turned?

Check Fedora's site. I believe the one used in the lgo is unturned. You could also email him. I know he takes photos of nearly every hat he makes.

Here are pics of mine. I ordered mine unturned. Just click through to the following pics to see different angles of the hat.

bink,
The back picture of that hat is great! Fedora's hats in general have awesome back views. I think it is a mark of a great hat that it looks good from all sides.

No problem, jpenman! The AB looks great either way. I prefer mine unturned, because I like my fedoras "vintage," as if they were bought new years ago. If the turn happens, it's because of daily use and wear. I like the character of most of my hats to happen naturally.

I agree with you bink. I don't know if I buy into the turn theory anyway.

I think the turn did happen, but it happened accidentally and due to the nature of the felt. The more Ford played with the hat, and as it was continuously worn, the turn just sort of began to happen. BUT, at the beginning of the movie, the hat
didn't have that turn, so you can technically have a screen accurate Raiders fedora with OR without the turn!

Yea, I think the turn is pretty much a fact. However, how the hat became turned is a different story.

Maybe it just happened in a certain turn of events. Nice looking hat bink. I prefer mine unturned ... I suppose it's because i'm already twisted enough.

If you watch any old movie there were always people turning their hats. Some did it as we do: turning then bashing. Others would just wear the hat slightly askew with the bash off-center. Still others would tip their hats with a rakish tilt; think Armstrong in the original "King Kong." People were stiving to leave their individual marks on their hats.

We're so twisted that with our luck, Jess, if we ordered a turned hat, it would look normal on us!

I kinda believe that Fords hat may have been turned by accident , and that he gave it that nice deep tight pintch. By doing this it also gave it that uneven look to his brim but wouldn't that meen his center dent would be off.
