I am thinking about getting myself a Wested to wear around, and since I don't have a ruler or tape measure, I don't know what my exact measurements are. I do however know that my London Fog jacket that I wear now is a size LARGE. Does anyone know what this equates to in measurement terms? Thanks.

a tape measure is the best way, those fabric kinds that you can roll up after your done, their cheap, shouldnt be a problem to get one, and just take exact measurements! Dont guesstimate on them. Be sure if you change a measurement, that you have a reason for doing so for example, you take 2 inches off the shoulders, that would cause the jacket to rise which means you better put 2 inches on the length and sleeve, otherwise it'll be too short. See what I mean, have a logical reason for changing things.

Hope it helps, Dan

Either that, or Strider; go to a tailor and have them measure you. You can be assured of accurate measurements when a tailor does it. Though, if you do not want to do the measurements, you could always order an off the rack Wested, say in a Large or according to your jacket size, say 40 L. Good luck.

Going to a tailor will give you the best fit. If you are not overly concerned with a custom fit you can use one of your current garment sizes.
