Just tuned in to the news and saw Imus wearing a jacket that had a very "Indy-esque" look ot it. From the collar to the storm flap, to the sholders and the back it looked like a horse-hide Wested-FS jacket.
Anyone esle see this?

Don Imus is a “Political Commentor.”
(Moderator edit: Please keep personal political biases out of the jacket section, regardless of what they are. Thank you.)
His saving grace is that he’s working hard with many ogranizations who help kids with Cancer and is brutally honnest about his own problems.
That leather Jacket look just like the one’s we on Indy Gear buy. I was flipping back and forth to see if I could get a better look at it.

I caught a little of Imus wearing the jacket this morning. I could only see it from midchest and up. I don't remember seeing a storm flap. It looked like both sides of the zipper were visible. I couldn't see any pockets to compare.
I'll plan to Tivo his show tomorrow in case he wears it again.

Caught a glimpse of the "Imus" jacket the other morning.
The pockets are G-1 style (with button closure). Back is also G-1 style (bi-swing). Cuffs are rib knit. Could be a contemporary jacket with elements of G-1. Could be G-1 in russet horse. Didn't really seen enough of it to be sure. (Hey, Imus, stand up and turn around!) Nice looking leather.

I've seen that A-Type jacket and I don't think it's the same one. I might be wrong.

Renderking,
Do you mean A-2? A-2 has exterior storm flap, snap closures on pockets, and no bi-swing back. G-1 has interior storm flap, the pocket button closures, and bi-swing, belted back. I thougth I saw an interior storm flap on the "Imus" jacket, but I wasn't sure.
I wouldn't say it is a G-1, but it is not an "Indy" type. I'd be interested if you find out what it is. The russet leather sure looks nice (at least on the telly).

Interesting you brought this up. Believe it or not, the first A-2 I ever purchased (quite by accident) was from his brother, Fred, who at the time was, ...er, between jobs nearly three years ago. I recall our phone conversation which was more about livestock that he was purchasing at the time for the ‘Ranch’ and NASCAR racing then A-2’s.
As to the jacket itself. It appears a deeper color than what G&B sells and was bought in New York and which he claims he had to have as soon as he saw it. So this would exclude it from being purchased from G&B or Wested. Also, for what it’s worth, I do know that the I-Man has most of his ‘street’ cloths tailored by designer and close friend Joseph Abboud, but also owns and wears several Resistol cowboy hats (and boots), a few dating back some 30 years or more which he has blocked by Stuart Dunlap of the Man’s Hat Shop located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also wears Wrangler jeans (Resistol and Wrangler being a major sponsor and contributor to the Ranch). All the kids out at the Ranch are outfitted with Resistol hats and boots and Wrangler jeans.
Anyway, the jacket is very much based on a G-1 design (without the mouton collar and pockets) incorporating many of it’s features as some have suggested.

I found this thread doing an unrelated search, and thought it was quite funny in retrospect. (No, I wasn't specifically looking up Don Imus).
Hey, _, you should see if your contacts at G&B would be prepared to make a special "Don Imus" Expedition jacket. It'll look weathered.

I think he meant Stern would be knocking Imus and his clothes.
Gotta disagree with you on Imus. I've never seen the I-man even trying to do the stuff Stern pulls. Maybe it was different twenty years ago, but now they're on a totally different road. Stern just hasn't figured that out. I'm glad Imus is back on the air and have been listening or watching since last Monday when he returned.
