I don't know if this has been covered before and if it has, my apologies. I am looking for the tweed jacket that Indy wore during the dinner scene in TOD. Does any one have ant information on this? I've tried e-bay and found something similar, but I want a copy of the exact jacket.

So do a lot of other people. I don't think anyone has found an exact copy of it yet.

When Kilgour was visiting my home town, we went to a Phase 2 consignment/second hand clothing store, and he found a very nice tweed jacket. Looked a lot more like the 'classroom' Indy rather than Dinner Indy, but it's a place to start.

HJ,
I have been looking at those for quite a while. Which color did you get? I keep looking at the ghillie brown barely-corn. Very nice. You should write up a little review and post some pics.

I like the brown mix myself, but I can't justify spending that kind of moolah on a tweed jacket. you can get them on certain auction sites for much cheaper.
EDIT: Which is not to say I begrudge anyone else from getting it! Just that I'm flat broke

Hey Buff,
I got the gray, which is woven in with tan. It is a very nice jacket. There is a picture of my wearing it at TOMB.
I love the weave of Harris Tweed. There are so many colors going on, mostly gray and tan.
Perhaps I should write a review. It is very classic in its styling, with leather buttons and a hidden third button.
I do recommend it, though it is a bit pricey.

Pyro,
Have you ordered anything from them?
They will make the James Bond "Goldfinger" suit and I was always tempted to get it, kind of like Leo DiCapprio from "Catch Me If You Can." How was your experience with them?

My fiance and I have a dress shirt on order to "test the waters." If all goes well, goodbye department stores.
So far, the service has been great. They send you an email when you order goes through the different stages:
1) processing..when the order is processed, payments on the order processed, fabric sourced and order for fabric placed with suppliers.
2) Executing.. when patterns are cut, fabrics are then cut to style specifications and all other pieces prepared to be put together. This is when linings are cut etc.
3) Completing.. is when all the pieces are actually put to gather and the sewing part of the order starts.
4) Shipped.. is when the order is actually packaged and dispatched via international couriers. This is when the order can actually be tracked online as it travels across the world to be delivered to you.
You can apply different types of payments to one order. Example pay with credit card and paypal to pay for one order. You can track your orders online, make changes, send attachments, etc... And, you get an estimated dispach date.
You can store yours or anyone else's measurements online with them. Then order simply by choosing, clicking a name from a dropdown box and tell them to customize exactly to the specs.
There's a good thread on these stores in The Fedora Lounge.

With my.customtailor, your could just send them an email with a jpeg attachment of Indy in his tweed jacket and say "do this." You would have to specify what type of material to use, but they could do a direct knockoff.
BTW: It would help if someone could post a photo of Indy in his tweed on this thread so some of us might be able to take advantage of that.

I saw this place years ago and I sent them off pics of Indy's tux jacket and they said they would be able to make it no problem. I then didnt have the funds to follow theough on it but if it works out for you Pyro I will certainly use it because all my dealings with it up to the point of ordering were excellent.

Well
My shirt is supposed to ship on the 27th of March. When I receive it, I'll let everyone know my thoughts.
After that, I am going to order a summer suit. Nothing Indy related by the process still applies.

This is encouraging. If ever I get a Raiders suit or TOD tux I think I will go with these guys.

So, Pyro, how was the shirt? Can you cut/paste it here? Hasn't MattDeckard ordered from them?

Sure. I didn't think it was IndyGear related but since you asked.
Well, my shirt came in today and I must say it is really nice. I just wanted a classic white shirt that fit me and that's exactly what I got.
It's much better than the K&G Men's Mart shirt I am wearing now.
The collar and cuffs are extra stiff and the shirt pocket is reinforced which I like.
(Sorry for the blurred photo)
The buttons have extra stiching and appear to be solid.
I think I was pretty generous on the measurements. I may have to have it taken in a little. When you order, on of the options is for a tight fit, loose fit, baggy fit. I think I chose baggy and that's what I got.
All in all, I had a very good experience with them and I look forward to getting more clothes from them in the future.
Cheers,
Pyro.
