What's the center dent of your fedora look like?

Post by Falstaff »

I'm in the process of a complete make-over of my Adventurebilt and I was hoping to find some photos of what the top bash or dent looks like from you folks. Is it wide or narrow? More rounded or flatter?

Uhhhh.....

Here are comparison photos of my AB's center dent with Raiders Cairo screengrabs for comparison. Keep in mind, my AB is still for all intents and purposes brand spanking new so the center dent hasn't had a chance to settle in and get totally rumpled yet.

Sorry for the small size but I didn't wanna blow out COW's bandwidth limits on graphics.

Regards,
Mike

I would say you would probably want a more narrow center dent with thicker rounded humps on top for a Raiders look. My AB and a Keppler I've seen have this effect going on and I think it makes for a more ROTLA looking hat. Brett

Mine looks like Michaelson, Bink, and Jerry took turns hitting me with a bat.

Oh, yes... The Action Bash. I've done it myself. Or more to the point--had it done to me before. It works well, but the blood stains are killer to get out of the liner.

Uh, Michaelson, I think we need to "tweak" the bash on Jess' fedora.

Hey, Jess, we need to add some "finishing touches" to your hat to help bring out the red "hue" of the felt...

Gee thanks Bink, but you know I kind of like the hat's asymmetrical look. So I think I'll pass, well at least until the ringing in my ears stops.

Then maybe we can get Jerry and work on his... hat.

Oh, and I just had the steel plate in my head replaced with a rubbermaid pannel. It pops back out!

Wait...I just now understand...we were supposed to be aiming AT THE HAT???

Oh, my bad. Here, give me the bat, I'll try again.

P.S. My bash is a slightly pointed ellipsoid. No, really. Sorry for the dark pic:

Dakota, I recall several of your lids when we got together at Indydawg's place a few years ago but that Optimo escapes me. You didn't have that one then, did you?

No, I didn't. I've had the Optimo since September, 2003. It's held up quite well.
