Hey guys.
I replaced my cracker a few days ago and had no problem doing it. It pulled it tight and looked just like the demonstration “end result” on the David Morgan site.
Last night, however, the fall broke near the cracker and I now have to put a new cracker on, since it was too dark to find the one that fell off.
Anyway, for whatever reason, I couldn’t get the thing on right. I don't for the life of me remember how I did it Sunday night and was wondering if anyone could direct me to a site that had a clear "how to" instructional for attaching crackers?
I know Bernie's site has one for falls, and DM for the cracker, but I can't make heads or tails from the DM demonstration, as I don't know what a “half hitch” is. It shows the cracker being placed on the whip, and the next picture, it's tied. That doesn’t help me.
Can anyone assist?
Thanks!

If you go to the indygear main site and look at the whip section that deals with links, I have about 6 sites that deal with attaching crackers. The url is :
http://www.indygear.com/gear/whip_links.shtml
Kyle Shold has a pretty good cracker attachment method, but if not done right it will fall off. Check out these url's (listed in the whip link section), they are very reliable:
- http://members.optushome.com.au/whips/atcrack.jpg
And Kyle's method is superb, but you really need a lot of practice to get it on. The advantage of this method is that the fall to cracker transition is very streamlined. But the downside is that it can slip off without proper technique.

Hope this helps.
