After getting my Wested and wearing it for a couple of weeks I now have a hard time wearing any of my other jackets! The great custom fit of my TOD jacket has spoiled me and now all my off the rack jackets just do not feel right anymore.

It seems like once you've stepped into the realm of custom tailored cloths it's really hard to step back and keep wearing the off the rack stuff.

Anyone else feel the same way or is it just me???

Your not alone. Ive worn my wested for 1 year, every single day. And i mean every day. I only ever took it off if it got above 85 which was only 2 times. I havent worn a diffrent jacket since. Its looking abit ragged now though, and i should probably send it to the tailor to get repaired and then to the dry cleaners.

Oh I know how you feel. I received my authenic lamb raiders in November and have not been able to take it off - any time I wear a different jacket it feels weird now - I love Wested's work.....however - a word of warning ...I feel myself being tempted to get another Wested - the Indy illness is setting in, getting into the blood.....and it's great!!

That's funny you mention that. I was just sifting through some old jackets in my closet this morning looking for a decent pair of gloves to wear whip cracking to keep my hands warm. In the process I couldn't believe how many jackets I had that I haven't wornin several years due to having my WEsted. I alternate now between a black wool pea coat (when I have black shoes) and my Wested (I have brown shoes). And sometimes my cotton Wested. I ended up settling on wearing my Indy gloves (couldn't find my black knit gloves or my black driving gloves).

I have the same thing with my Cotton Raiders. The fit was so well, that after I started to get into other areas of the Era, I have been getting custom-tailored shirts (cheaper than American brands in Taiwan). Most of my off the rack doesn't seem to fit right anymore, except for some of the Abercrombie and Fitch and Hollister stuff (I'm 15 so I can get away with those brands). It may sound like heresy to mot of the guys here, but their cut is more like the vintage cuts. High-cut armholes, too.

It has happened to me too. I have some really nice garments but the custom tailored ones seem to always fit the best....duh...

You know, it's been wickedly cold here and I still find that I'm wearing my goatskin Wested more than a typical winter coat. I have other jackets that I love to wear, but... well, I wear my Wested more than any other. It sure does make a difference when you order custom tailored clothing!

It was about 5 degrees yesterday and I was wearing my Wested goat with sweater and a fleece vest underneath it. It was actually quite warm...

What I would really like is a Navy Blue quilt or Thinsulate lined cloth Indy jacket!!!

I just won an old military sweater off eBay for cheap which should help layer under my Wested quite nicely!

It was -11 here the other day and I'm cold thinking about it.

Summer here... haven't worn Wested in months...

It's "winter" in Finland. It's been raining since september, and the temperature is about 37. That's +3°C. And Finland is on the same latitude as Alaska.

Yup, me too. And the Southern California 'winter' (if you can call it that) is probably only going to last for about another month...so I'll be hard-pressed to see how long I can keep wearing it during daylight...might be a good way to lose weight - sweatin' it off!

its the custom fit ! I've never had a jacket wear so well !

I'm happy for the robust nature of our jacket wearers, but have found that our jackets are only as good in terms of 'warmth' as the layered garments UNDERNEATH the jacket, REGARDLESS of the hide. They're great wind breakers (I was about to say for 'breaking wind', but thought better of it. ), and when the chips have been down (there I go again ), will reach for my good old Woolrich wool car coat when it's as cold as it has been on my drive in the past couple of mornings. If it's at least above 30, I will pull out my leather jackets, but a sweater etc. is donned first! That durn cold chill goes right down to my bones anymore. Regards. Michaelson

It gets...BELOW...30 degrees somewhere on Earth??? Are you kidding? Do you realize water would FREEZE at that point??? How do you get a tan in that kind of weather?

(P.S. Yeah, I'm from the 'nearly' great white north. I'm jesting. I jest. I'm a jester.)

But in Southern Cali...below freezing? Never. Guess the Wested is the last jacket I'll own...locally. Drive me up to the low desert and it SNOWS. (One day I wrapped up a job in the low desert (blowing dry wind), drove through the LA mts on the way home - in SNOW - and then took a walk on the beach in the WARM sunny afternoon. That was a California winter day.)

I'm ready to move to the high lonesome, myself, and we're going to be heading that way sometime this year. Guess I better get my old bones insulated before then, right? Regards. Michaelson
