FS Jacket Liner Creep

Post by Major Mike »

I've had my FS Expedition for about two years and love it. However, I've noticed the liner sagging and creeping down to where it's hanging out of my sleeve. Has anyone else had this problem, and is this something that Flightsuits will repair?

I've had my goat Expo for about 6 months now and the liner does hang about 1/2 inch past the point where the liner is sewn in at the sleeve. This still leaves another 1/2 inch until it is even with the sleeve opening. I'll see if it creeps anymore. I don't know G&B's policy on this. It would probably be best to email them and ask. Please post what you find out.

Just send it to them and they will take a look at it for no cost (except shipping of course). If it is determined it is a workmanship defect, they will repair it; if the lining is determined to be well worn, you may have to replace the lining, and they will charge a nominal fee. At any rate, have them take a look at it, or if you want, just have a local seamstress or tailor take a look at it first before you determine if you want to send it in or not.

Personally, I would just send it to G&B.

Reading some other threads here, I think what happened is the liner stayed the right size and the leather shrunk. I did have it pretty wet once, and layed it out flat to dry. So I wet it down again, rolled it in some towels to get rid of the extra water, and put it on. I kept pulling at the sleeves and stretching the chest (I thought I was just gaining weight) so it wouldn't shrink as it dried. I wore it all day until it was dry, and voila, the liner creep is gone, and it fits like a glove. Problem solved.

Major Mike,

Glad to hear that the problem has been solved and that it was due to the jacket getting wet and not to some aging aspect of the Expo. I feel better about the long term life of my Expo now.
