Browning Holster?

I wanted to find out what kind of holster you all think Indy would have carried his Browning in, were that his primary weapon.

I know, there has been speculation about his keeping it in a shoulder holster/pocket/bag in RotLA, drawing it when needed in the bar. What I'm talking about is what he would use were it the Browning, not the Colt, Smith or Webley, that he kept on his hip when getting into trouble. Would it be a standard issue military holster, or something else?

Just looking for some fun speculation.

Cheers,

Maybe he just kept it in his pants.

Or, maybe just a brown leather flap one like they used to carry. These are starting to grow on me. I didn't like them at first.

Since the Browning is very similar to the Colt .45, he probably would have used a US military .45 holster.

To get one, go to http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/reenactors/index.htm and click US WWII - Equipment - Weapons & Accessories - Colt 45.

They outta be. They were designed by the same person. But that gets me thinking....I wonder if the two are interchangeable as far as holster fit goes.

I always thought the 1911 holster was a little boring.

My personal favorite for 1911 holsters would have to be the M1912. It is the Cavalry holster which is thigh mounted with a swivel attachment to the belt. This allowed the mounted soldier to carry it while riding.

Here are some links to it:

The tank holster is always an option as well. This is found in the second link. I think Indy might have modified this to be carried on the belt.

Great links and pictures! I like the tanker's version, as well as the officer's set with the mag pouch and belt.

Cheers!

I am looking for an indy looking holster for the browning HP.

Does anyone have any info about the holster shown above (not the colt 45 holsters...). The one with the flap and mag pouch on the front (photo posted by pyroxene)?

I have their Victory Model holster, and like it a lot. The quality is definately there, it fits my Model 10 perfectly, and has a nice russett shade to it.
