New To Group, Just Ordered a Wested

Hello,
I can't believe I never found this site till now. It's like a dream come true. I thought I was the only nut in his basement late at night "ruining" his new leather jacket!

I own a few A2 jackets from U. S. Wings, had a horse hide Avirex A2 and their B3 as well. None were quite what I wanted and being tall there was no good Indy choice until I found Wested. Taking advice from this forum I pieced together a nice combination of options and sent in my order yesterday. Can't wait to get it hopefully in early January.

Still want a nice G1 though, well aged. I do have 2 U.S. Wings A2 jackets for sale on eBay right now. One goat and one vintage cowhide. size is a 50Long and an XXL long. I guess if they go I can look for that G1 next.
Best,
Tony Miller

Pretty basic really after checking all the suggestions.

I went with an authentic dark lambskin TOD jacket to get a bit of extra length. I wanted an extra inside pocket with minimal facing, nylon zippers on the inside pockets. Double underarm gussets as I want the movement for driving. Cotton lining, satin in sleeves. Sliders instead of D rings and cut so the straps are snugged up close. I hate seeing the sides of the jacket straining to stay together.

I gave Peter plenty of measurments so it will come out nice.

Anything else I should take care of before they get started?

Tony

Which is it brother, Authentic or Dark brown?

Other than that I'm sure you're fine. There are so many options on this jacket that I am convinced the only way to get it right is through a bit of trial and error. granted, the wealth of info on this site will go a long way towards helping you with your decision, but I think in the end you just need to take the plunge and hold your breath.

Tony... leave while you can! It's too late for us! But you can still be free!

Welcome aboard, Tony! :D

So, have you got any other Indy stuff in your collection or are you mainly going for the jacket?

Have a nice, and long, stay. ;)

Regards,
Swindiana

Okay, it is authentic lambskin, not dark.

As for Indy gear I am gathering info to make a Grail Diary. That is what first got me into this. I was captivated by that little book and the treasures it contained. making one, researching it, perfecting the srt and age will be a quest in it's own right.

Welcome to the club Tony! :D I also just ordered a Wested jacket a few days ago.

Now I just have to figure out what to do with myself while I wait...:P

This whole Indy thing is rather addictive! I originally came here just to get some info for the jacket and now I find myself looking into the other gear. I'm becoming especially fond of the fedora and I may get one next. My wife is already giving me funny looks so I better lay low for a while as I plan my next purchase...

Baltimore Jones? Indiana Raven? Indiana Poe?
BTW, you'll love the authentic brown. It's what I have and I nearly fell over when I first saw it. It truly looks "authentic."

While I came here only for the jacket, the only other item I would consider would be the aldens, but I've never spent $300 for a pair of boots before. There aren't too many fedoras in the detroit area that I have noticed.

My wife gave me looks too when I told her I was getting the wested, and if all goes well with my horsehide, I prolly won't get another Indy anytime soon. But little does she know I'm warming up to an aero jacket-Muhahahahahah  .........oh wait that's several years out (but still must also lay low) :(

Welcome, Tony! Personally, I like "Baltimore Jones" although you'd have to pronounce is "Balmer Jones" if you used the correct dialect. (I'm native to the east coast and my Mother was born and raised in Baltimore.)

Thanks,
