Anyone got info on it? I won one on ebay a while ago. Looks like the bag Indy used. What is the differnce between that and the British made one?

If it's an actual MkVII, the only real "difference" is that it was issued to Canadian troops instead of British troops.

You will find more differences between Canadian makers themselves than you will find within the British stock. It will be interesting to see what kind you get and what features are there on your bag.
HERE you will find some of my comparison shots between a British bag (1) and two Canadian bags (2 & 3). In general you will find that Canadian bags are lighter in tone than the British ones, almost like a "mustard" colour. These are only a few shots to point out some differences and depending on how you look at it, yes, they are just Mk VII bags issued to the Canadian lads.
Hope this helps!

Swindy

The Canadian bag I used to have also came in more of a mustard color. Regards. Michaelson

Do you remember anything more about it if comparing with the shots of the above couple of bags? Anything at all?
*Sorry, I'll dimmer the lamp pointing at you, didn't mean for it to be a hearing*
Even the size was a bit different with these... Number 3 was not as "tall" as number 2. (2 being the bag I still have and use.)

As I recall (and we're reaching WAY back), the dimensions were the same as the British bag I replaced it with. The color was the only thing that separated it from the other bag, but it's been to long.

Yep, there was. The one I had was the very first MkVII bag I ever owned, and I bought it from a collector and WW2 reinactor who lived in Oregon. Found it through a militaria website. Regards. Michaelson

People should check out the main site more often. There is a ton of info there, bags included... Even if it hasn't been updated for while. *Dodging the cracking whips coming from above.*
Actually, there were bags for troops in India, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand aswell.

Alot of times, the candian bags with have a small snap pocket on the inside, one vent on the bottom - right in the middle, and a larger front flap than the british MK VII....

Thanks for the info guys. It is a good bag. My buddy saw it on my bunk in our hooch and said he thought Indy's bag was darker. I have a WPG bag as well, but this one is more broken in. Well only 4 more months left till I get to go home! Then take my gear to Kaua'i for a photo op! The last piece of gear is the whip and that is coming soon from Western Stage Props!

I do like this bag alot. I am happy to have it. It looks great with the strap from Todd's. When I get gear I try to make it my own. For example I had the Alden boots resoled with a thick vibrum sole and the pants have cuff on the bottom. You have to be a gear head to realize I have a Indy look and where the stuff came from. It is great fun, and has helped pass the time here in Afghanistan. Thanks. You guys help pass the time on this site too. When nothing is going on I just read a read the posts!

My friend, let me thank YOU for your sacrifices. If we can give you a bit of enjoyment with our banter and wandering offtopic at times, then I'm proud to have had a small part in helping you pass the time. Regarding the offtopic stuff, just ignore folks like bink, Jerry, and Indiana Jess....they can't help themselves.
My highest regards, and tip of my fedora! Michaelson
p.s.By the way, how have the Alden's held up where you're located?

they are fine, the powers at be will not let me wear them with my uniform. I have used them and the hat when I get to work with the SF guys though. Cant take pictures of that stuff though! Speaking of going off topics......
Yeah I like the bag! There we go, back on track!
Thanks for the kind words!
