It's Not Easy Being Green

I SWEAR this has been covered before, but I just can't seem to find it anywhere.....
The newer MK's and bag strap from WPG have been re-done and are now a more green-ish color, and the strap looks better than ever. I should have waited for the following year to purchase the bag, lol, cause I'm stuck w/ the way-too-orange starp. Anywho, I was wondering if the newer bags are TOO green? What are the comments/concerns about this as well as the strap. Is it perfect for the Raiders of the Lost Ark look, or what? Another question...are the WPG bags the same as Todd's?

I'm 99.9% sure Todd's bag is the WPG bag, has the same strap and all from what i seen. As far as being stuck with the orangish strap, wish i waited to get mine too, but I already switched it with Todd's deluxe strap so its ok. though I would like one of Texas Action Gears straps. Also with all of Todd's new additions i plan on finishing a big part of the gear soon, belt, holster, whip holder, gun etc. I remember this being asked before if it was the WPG bag and im pretty sure it was said that yes it is. Except its marked down a dollar and you can save on shipping getting it from Todd when you order it with other items instead of directly from WPG alone.
from Todd's website:
"As you probably know, Indiana Jones carried around a WWII surplus British Mark VII gas mask bag (that's right, the bag wasn't invented until years after the time in which the movies were set). The only modification was the leather strap. Once this fact was known, most of the world's stock of surplus MKVII bags was snapped up by Indiana Jones fans."
"Not to worry! An enterprising chap has reproduced the bags himself! That's right, in every detail including the inner compartments and hardware fittings. And, as icing on the cake, they come with a real dandy leather strap with a nickel plated buckle!"
definitly must be the WPG. Also they are the same price,,i remember now, i made that mistake last time too.

As far as the strap it will look more accurate if you get Todd's strap with it to.

I shot a few pics of Mk VII bags during the UK summit as you can imagine.
The new 'greener' replica is to the left in
THIS pic.
Also, it's the third one from the top in
THIS pic.
Hope this helps.

Looking at pix from the Temple scene in raiders, the bag almost looks like a yellow-ish color rather than green, kinda like the original WPG bags. Any thoughts?

I think that several different bags were used throughout the movies. Just looking at a few bags together shows that there are so many different shades of khaki going on from maker to maker and bag to bag that it is no wonder why the bag looks green in one scene and more tan in another. Light conditions played another part too I think.

During the Queen Mary summit this year I purchased a new bag from Todd that I can confirm from word of mouth that they are Jerry's (WPG) bags. I have Jerry's old khaki version as well and have to say that the new version is come much better all around, from the material, to the color, to the strap, it is an A + tranformation. As well as owning both of Jerry's bags I have, over the years, owned up to 20 orginal bags and have to say this replica is a go. Compared to my mint condition original it is a great replica, the color is just new, that explains the bright green look, give it some time to fade, wash it a few times. As for being green, that takes me back to the days when I was green. Picture it, COW did not exist, all we had was Indy Fan at the time. Indy Gear was just a teenager compared to now it is a wise older gentleman. Times were different then, the FS jacket was yet a dream and there was just a different feel to things. It was sometimes back in 1998 when I first discovered this wonderful world, it may have earlier than that. But moving on it's just fun for me to remember back at that time and compare it to now.
