Ever since I got my custom PB Indy, I've worn it every day, and everywhere (by everywhere, I mean everywhere). Since I'm mostly walking whereever I go, I tend to sweat in it a lot (TMI, I know, but bear with me). Anyway, the lining of the hat is white, and it has started to get stains around the area where the bottom of the pinch is (where my forehead usually resides). Does anyone else have this problem, and how can I go about cleaning it without completely removing the lining? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I can't help you out either I'm afraid (I'm still deciding what kind of fedora to get)...
Did you get the $185.00 one from this page?

Actually, I got my PB on eBay. It was a steal at 100.00 (115.00 after shipping). It was never worn, and just happened to be my size, and I thought: "man, I'm never going to see this hat come along again at this price. If I don't get it now, I'll be paying full price later", so I got it. It's the same hat that's on the PB website, though. I just got it from someone else who had it and wanted to sell it. So far, I really love wearing it. It fits perfectly, and I'm told that it has just the right look to it when I'm wearing it, so it rocks.
The only problem is since I do so much walking during a normal day, that I sweat a lot when wearing it. Other than that, it's perfect!

There's a thread in this section on how to clean a liner, but I doubt it can be done without removing it (be carefull, the liner is glued in on a PB).
Personally I'd call Petersbros. and ask if they could send you a replacement liner. Cleaning a liner is just not worth the trouble unless it's a vintage liner you can't replace.

Marc

IndyMcFly successfully cleaned his liner of his Akubra after having the same problem. With a white liner and daily wear, sweatstains are innevitable, unless, of course, you don't sweat but "glisten" in which case you get glisten stains. If the liner is glued in (usually just in a couple of spots), you can gingerly remove the lining without harming the hat. Wash the lining by hand in a bucket of mild detergent, let it dry naturally (give it a bit of ironing if needed) and pop it back in the hat. Regardless, if you get a new liner, you'll still have to remove the old one, so it's worth having a go of it.
Either way, there's no good way of cleaning sweat stains from a liner while it's still in the hat.
Good luck and let us know what you do.
