Dimensional Cut

The ROTLA hat, had a dimensional cut on the brim. Just wondering what everyone thinks the measurements on the brim should be to get the Raiders look? I realize that it has to do alot with the stature of each person, but, should the sides be...1/8"....1/4"....1/2"....shorter then the front and back? What do you guys think?

You will find most will take about an 1/8" off. It seems to be just the right amount.

On this topic, is there a single place for a good set of fedora measurements (assuming a given size)?
I guess the brim should be proportional to he crown, but it seems like if we're always shooting for a 5" or so crown, the brim sizes should be pretty consistent, too, including the dimensional cut.
But there have been posts about cutting brims to fit someone's head size better...not sure what to make of that.
My apologies if this is all collected somewhere and I just didn't see it. Just a thread reference would be great. Extra public embarrassment points for me if you point me at the main IndyGear page.

I think sometimes you need to scale measurements appropriatly - if say your head size deviates from Ford's by several sizes or more, then surely it makes sense that other measurements should be scaled to match.
I am a size 6 5/8 and I sometimes think that I should even take some height of the crown height to better match the look of the hat on my head as Ford's hat to his.

Hunh. Yep, if you're changing the crown height, then that makes a lot of sense. I didn't think anyone was doing that - I stand (well, sit, actually) corrected.
So is there a ratio? I'm thinking crown height x front brim x side brim? I'll go dig again for the original measurements, that could then just be used as a ratio.
