I have been abusing this vintage beaver hat for several weeks now. The story is, one of the sample 1928 bodies had a tear in it. Looked like someone shut it in a car door. I made a yard hat out of it and have been working it in, sweating in it, and even got it soaked in the rain twice. It has taken on a beat up look, and looks kinda, sorta like the Cairo hat. Here she is. http://public.fotki.com/Fedora/hats/cairo_hat.html And here.http://public.fotki.com/Fedora/hats/cairohat2.html regards, Fedora

Fedora,
You sure know how to generate buzz! You keep teasing us with these pics of hats as we all await your grand opening!

This hat looks great. Where is the tear? Is it that discoloration on the left side of the picture?

Is that a 6" crown? The height just looks right. Best dressed gardener in Mississippi, I would guess.
