I have been wearing my new G&B goat Expedition jacket for about 6 weeks so far. It has been softened in the dryer (no heat) and had a coating of Pecard's jell applied.

The sleeves have developed some nice creases and the length looks great. Should I expect them to shorten up anymore from additional or deeper sleeve creases or should they be at a stable length by now?

If you've worn the jacket for 6 weeks solid, I'd say the length should have reached it's 'final destination' by now.

How do you like the Expo? I'm guessing a lot if you've been wearing it so often!

Thanks all, I was a little worried that the sleeves might get too short. In the South America scene from "Raiders," it looks like there are a great many creases in Indy's jacket sleeves. I wonder how they achieved that look.

I like the jacket very much. Now that it is cool here, I have been wearing it every day. It has become much softer now. The goatskin seems to be quite tough. I have accidently rubbed up against rough objects without a scratch. That's probably why it's so hard to distress. I had a Cooper's vintage cowhide Indy jacket in the past. The Expo goat is much lighter, but feels just as warm as the cow. I'm still getting used to the left-handed zipper. The workmanship on the Expo is top notch. I haven't handled a Wested so I can't compare the two.

I really got lucky with the Expo because G&B had it on clearance sale for $249. It was a 40 made to measure with a reg torso and short sleeves. I was concerned that the sleeves might end up too short, but they look just fine. I was deliberating between a Wested and G&B. When I found out about the sale, my choice was sealed. Besides the great price, I didn't have to wait weeks for the jacket. I did have to wait weeks before it was cold enough to wear. With my Cooper, I was able to wear it well into winter by layering it with a down vest. I plan to do the same with the Expo. Hopefully, I won't look too puffy with the vest underneath.

I was looking at MK's www.regular-guy.com website and his trip to Flightsuits page. When I looked at his modeling of the goat vs. lamb Expos, it struck me that the lamb seemed to have more and sharper folds on the sleeves vs. the goat. Is this due to the different drape of the leathers? This might explain why the jacket in Raiders looks to have so many, deep folds on the sleeves as it was lamb. My goat Expo has less and wider folds on the sleeves.

Is there a difference as to how much the sleeves will shorten for the various leathers due to their different draping characteristics?

I've personally found lambskin and goatskin to draw up about the same, where cowhide seems to be a bit more of a challenge, as it's denser and heavier in construction, and seems to fight the ride up as opposed to the other two. This has been my experience with not only the FS jackets, but Wested AND U.S. Wings. Regards. Michaelson
