Does anyone know if applying pecards will shrink leather at all? I'm getting a US Wings Vintage cowhide and a pair of Aldens and don't want either of them to shrink when I apply the pecards. Thanks.

Well, it hasn't on anything I've ever used it on....and that's just about everything. But, there have been times that I wish it would.

Trying to shrink leather, DEM? A couple guys claim they've have a bit of shrinkage after completing soaking a Wested.
But that's anecdotal - I haven't heard of a lot of people doing it, so it's at your own risk. Especially since some folks have had problems w/ bleeding (the jackets, not them).
Michaelson, can you chime in w/ the correct information? I think I bungled this one a bit more than usual. (Water -> maybe shrink, maybe bleed.)
Thanks,
J

Untreated leather will shrink. It's a given. Treated leather will not...well, there's not such thing as an 'absolute', but let's say the chances are MIGHTLY slim. Dye will only release when the material has reached a saturation level with water. The better the material is treated with a product such as Pecards, the higher the threshhold becomes for that level to be reached. Regards. Michaelson
