Is there a difference between an HJ hat comming from Todd's and an HJ coming from Replix in Germany - especially concerning the quality of the felt ?
Not long time ago the person in charge of the production of hat in Cambridge told me -by Email- that they tried to improve the quality of the felt ( waterproofing... ).
They spoke to me about replix but they didn't speak about Todd's...perhaps because I'm living in France ?
If anyone could give me some informations about...thanks ?

Anjali

I think that the hats from Replix and Todds are the exact same hats. If you get them open crown it would just be a matter of getting them from the place that provides the best price and shipping to your location. If you get the hat prebashed, you would have the choice of two different people bashing the hat.
I have a question to ask about the HJ sizing from Todd's. My head circumference is 21 1/2 inches, the smallest size on Todd's website. I've heard numerous times on the forum that the HJ's run a tad small -- based on the experience others have had with this, should I go for the next size up, or stick with my current size? I don't want the hat to be so tight that I get a headache.

I probably should have ordered a size up from Replix, but I was travelling at the time I ordered at didn't want to mess around. I have managed to make it fit comfortably, but it would have been easier with a slightly larger hat. Had headaches at first, but it eventually gave in and now fits alright- still tighter than my Akubra, but fits. A benefit of this is it's harder to blow off in winds- but it can leave a line across your forehead when you take it off after a while.

Hello to all!
As to sizing, it seems many agonize over this, and rightly so. Don't worry! Just send your head measurement (take it with a cloth tape measure) and I'll get you the right size. I test the fit here and make adjustments if necessary. If one size is a little too tight, the next size up will almost certainly be too loose, so don't guess. I made an adjustable head form that I can adjust to your measurement, even if you are in-between sizes. I will find the best fit for you and stretch the hat if that is the best solution.

That's of great help, thanks!
