Aren't Todd's jackets noted for fitting 'small'?

This was an early Todd Jacket. 2 years old now. It's a custom 42.
I bought it off from a cow member here. Name was whiskey... I forgot his complete nick...

Probably whiskyman? I think he has sold a lot of jackets. The Todd's customs may be 'normally' sized, I've heard the specials are on the smaller side.

Yes whiskyman!
I'm still suprised that I got my TN jacket
I just waited 5 days! I still got the feeling I'm gonna wait on something.
I never felt this good after ordering a jacket. Tony even added a few pics.
Don't know if they have been already posted on COW.

Hey, KrYpToNiAn1, I’d say your jacket is pretty close to at least one hero jacket:

Awesome comparison Mac. K, I take back what I said... God, I love this jacket.

I like how in the picture you can see the reddish hue in the fedora too... proves to me that it's all in the lighting.

Maybe someone finds this interesting.
I have ordered a TN Mutt jacket yesterday. I went for the 1:1 Shia sizing just with 0,5 added to the sleeves which made them 25 inch.
Tony gave me some measurements of the shia jacket:
Chest: 21 3/4 more 22 inch.
Waist: 38 inch
Shoulder to Bottom: 22,5 inch

The chest size is then the same as the Indy4 jacket with HF specs and that was for Shia! He's a very slim guy IMO.
I hope the Mutt jacket will fit me too.

I just have ordered a TN Raiders jacket too.
Shrunken Lamb for sure.
Tony will ship it together with my Mutt jacket.
Waah I'm so excited
I will get this inscription:

No offense whiskeyman. I even save now on the shipping costs and can get a custom inscription and a bit longer jacket length. But I'm sure you will sell this jacket soon.

I've just seen that yours is No14 - mine is No15 - funny they should both go to Austria.
Mine will go to the highest bidder once I get it back from LA - it'll be a no-reserve auction.

It does look terrific in pics, and it is a perfect Raiders cut and style - but the sad fact is that it is not the right practical jacket for me - which is why I've had to send it back to be repaired despite hardly wearng it.
I've had to accept that a screen accurate copy of the Raiders jacket - which I've desired for so many years - is just not the right leather jacket for me. No matter how perfect it looks. :(

Wish it were my size.......I'm thinking of getting a second in cow ala Indy G........only reason I've gone to the CS recently is the cold weather......Remember what Ricardo said " It's better to look good than to feel good".... :) :)

Why did yours need to be repaired? Was the picture of the hole in the sleeve of your jacket?

The ripped sleeve was a Wested lamb.......Labrador problem......my Lab has been all over my TN and the only damage was drool I had to wipe off..... even let him curl up on it one night during the break in process !! :) :)

Can't find the post.

is this photo it?

Probably just the photo but the leather looks fairly thick

The post was on another board I think. There were comments about the leather being very fragile.

Yes, that's Whiskyman's, I nicked it from another board (hope that's OK Whisky).

Run in with a Christmas tree, as I recall, causing two rips.

Why does that even matter? I think the real point here is the fragility of this hide.

I think it was posted on another board during the christmas break of this one.

It should be easy to find but it's nothing more than someone commenting on how they feel about the leather; an opinion. Are there rotting fish in Denmark?

maybe whiskyman can explain what actually happened to cause this rip?

Posted: Thu Jan 22, 2009 4:17 pm

I posted in the other thread that it's really unfortunate that Whiskeyman's ripped. It is lamb and a run in with a sharp stick could do that. I wouldn't characterize the hide as fragile, however. Like I posted, it's embarrassing to say but my daughter who's directly in the middle of the terrible twos latched onto my shoulder. I realize a two year old biting isn't the same thing as a sharp stick but she really latched onto it and I was preparing myself not to go ballistic when she ripped out a chunk of lamb. I got her to let go and, after a discussion, I tentatively looked at my jacket. Not even a toothprint to show for the ordeal.

So, again, while it is lamb, I wouldn't characterize it as fragile.

It got torn while carrying a xmas tree. I was going to get it repaired locally, when it got damaged again - rather more seriously. I don't want to discuss it though as Tony is kindly sorting it out and making it good as new.
The only thing i will say about the shrunken lamb is that it is not the hide for me.

There's nothing wrong with that, it's been said many times it isn't for everyone.
Do you think you might get one in another hide after you sell this one?

I don't know what I'll do. Tony is being extemely kind in the matter, so it's perhaps ungrateful to sell it.
Most owners are more than happy with their IndyI jackets, which is what readers of this thread should remember.

Hi whiskyman!

I think you never should use any expensive leather jacket for something like this. I mean even the resin from the wood could make problems on any leather. It's the same like I would never go fishing with a leather jacket. The risk is just too high getting the hook caught in the leather
OK I'm not the best fisherman... But I think you got my point.

For one interested in ordering an Indy 1 or Indy 4 jacket from Tony, is emailing him a valid option? Or is the phone the best or only way to deal with him?
I emailed him many moons ago regarding an Indy 4 jacket, but never heard anything back. Come to think of it, I called too, and left a voice message, and never heard anything back.
I'd rather email, due to the cost, but I guess I could try and call again.
I wish I'd perservered back in August; I'd love to have a nice Indy 4 from Tony. They look better with every new one I see here.

Just put your phone number on your mail.

TN CS owners, how is the arm movement in Tony's CS jacket?
Much 'ride up' with the arms raised? Are the armholes sensibly sized?
I'd love to see pics of someone wearing one with arms raised.
Not to go off topic, but I think it was Rundquist who showed a pic of him wearing a G&B with his arms raised, and it fitted so well. Didin't raise up, didn't look like he could fly. If Tony's CS has a similar sleeve setup, I'd get one in a heartbeat.

Yeah, I got my Indy IV first because I thought that it would be nice to have one from the original guy. I pecarded it, have wore it a lot, and it's pretty much become my favorite.

Crismans... can I (we) see some pics? I want to see what the jacket looks like with Pecards on it... how often do you apply it to keep it dark and shiny?

I can only speak for my CS, and I wonder if mine's sized right for me. It could be smaller and bigger (I'd like the arm holes to line up with my shoulders, and not drape past them, even though that seems SA, even though the chest could be roomier). Anyways, as a result I find it rides up a fair amount, the arm holes are huge, but there is no squirrel. Also find arm movement restrictive, more so than my other jackets.

There's some pictures around in this thread, I think. I did a quick look for them (really quick) and couldn't find them.

I've only applied it once and the colors went back to normal. It has a great darker look when the Pecard's is freshly applied.

Yup! I should have addressed the fit through Tony first, I guess. It's probably just my body-type. I'm smaller frame, but barrel shaped. So when I first got it, the shoulder seams hung past my shoulders and then stunk inwards pit-to-pit, with leather billowing unflattering. Now it fits better. That's why the disclaimer.

But please anyone chime in! I'm curious if the majority of people find this jacket has a better range of movement. I find the jacket binds at the shoulder, where you get that rotator-cuff crease. That crease restricts movement. Also, my jacket has big arm holes that causes the sleeves to ride up if I lift my arms up. From what I see on screen, this is accurate (note the grenade launcher scene). Moving inside the jacket is very nice, the lining material is superb.

But higher, smaller armholes, located at my pits seems to work well for movement, and I don't think this is a characteristic of the CS design. Just trying to give some feedback to Kevin. He might think about a TN Indy I instead...
