I'm with Matt on this one. I really want to believe but when I hold my Aldens up to the screen, that's what I see. No taper on my Aldens either.

3K, what do you think of Area 51?

Rorschach blots normally present different images to various people. I think something odd is going on here. Everyone is seeing boots, or hats. Weird. I see a brown puppy. Fedora

I see a sideways bottle of Jack Daniels No. 7. That's what everone must be drinking to see a hat and to keep this insane thread going on for so long.

Aaaaaaahhhh! My good friend Jack.

So, wait, I missed something. Is that a Raiders bash in that Alden, or is it more LC?

3Kbucks - take this from someone who actually DOES buy in to your 'errant-ribbon-stitch' theory: Shoe.

But don't let the way this thread ran get you down at all - when next you believe you've found something, post away my friend. I think your Raider's Turn work is amazing, I'd like to see what you are up to.

Observe the shadow of the white shirt cuff falling on the brown coat. Just below that, note the shadow of the brown coat cuff on the brown coat pocket. The light source is the floor lamp to Indy's right say seven feet from the closet about chest high. Checking my closet the shirt cuffs would be about crotch high. ... The brown coat would be casting it's shadow on the hat (or shoe). Consdering the angle of the light, a shoe would have to be furthur back than it appears to be----UNLESS..it's a hat! The length of my top bash is 7 1/4 inches. The shadow could be falling 4 or 5 inches furthur back than it would be on a shoe. We can now rest assured, That..is a hat. :D Image

Or the top of the shoe curls out more than you are supposing.

Next.

(p.s. look up, I posted encouragement to you RIGHT before you did that. my fault, I supposed... )

EDIT: Ever heard the saying, "When all you have is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail?" You might only be seeing hats for a reason.

Considering the angle of the light source, the shadow can't be caused by a bend in the top of the shoe. If just the side closest to us was extremely bent- that is the laces were off the hooks, the shadow would be triangular, sharpening as the bend aproached the back of the "shoe"- If the whole top of the shoe was bent towards us, the thin white line you think is the opening would be big oval facing us. . ..And Swankara, you are trying to see the side of a hat- I see it perfectly head on, tilted forward.

There seems to even be a single boot vs multiple boots conroversy. I can't understand why 10 people posted after Swankara's last post where he outlined a sideways hat instead of the head on hat that's there, and no one commented.

Yeah Indianamikey, with an awesome top dent and a killer front pinch, (the shadows making it look like a fat and fluffy HJ) -only everythig you are seeing as front pinches look like a top bash to me.. But, amazingly, I can kind of see the same top bash and front pinch in Swankara's actual boot shots too. What's killin' me is what looks like 2 shoe laces draped over the shoe rack. But didn't Antiquity collector say his hero hat had chin straps? So A. C.,...were those straps like 1/4 inch wide shoe laces? Nevemind- I give up..that's an Alden boot, ok? You all win. I lose :D (Even though I can't believe a boot could look so much like a hat or a hat could look so much like a boot)?

I understand what you mean about the pinch that most people are trying to see, is the bash , so you are seeing the top of the center dent, with the hat pointing forward and down, ..right???

Well, then what looks like the "supposed" ribbon, wouldn't look like it was going straight around the front of the pinch, unless the ribbon came undone, and slid up in the front to the top of the pinch.

If the ribbon slid, then maybe thats why he would have it at the bottom of the closet in a junk pile with other shoes.

Either way, I still see a boot.

Are we still discussing this?
What not change the name of the thread to "Aldens Spotted in Indy's Closet in Raiders," and move it to the "General Gear" section.

I mean, good find on the part of 3thoubucks; he found a pair of Aldens at the bottom of Indy's closet.

That's a boot, alright. ....but there might be a small puppy inside it, as Fedora suggested.

Maybe if sharper screengrabs were used, there won't be any misunderstandings. Allow me:
