When I ordered my very last Raiders shirt from Noel, I asked him to send me a few spare buttons. He included 15 buttons in the package. To me, those are gold because I am having difficulty locating buttons that match those.

I think the prototype looks good - a few tweaks and adjustments here and there, based upon what folks have said above, and it will be...perfect
Cheers to Peter for keeping the flag flying!

I don't think the pockets were sewn shut in the film. They become unbuttoned and do move and flap in some scenes. It make no sense to do the extra work required to sew them shut.
As for button placement Noel made me a custom shirt and I had this fixed. I wear a size 16 and with the buttons placed 3" apart from the collar they matched perfectly to Raiders. They do affect the way the shirt is worn if you don't button the top 2. It reacts totally different.
The buttons were placed differently on the other 2 films which is where the inconsistencies of Noel's shirts came in to play.
As far as Noel's color it was accurate to LC and I believe TOD. I saw a shirt from LC at auction and that's the color. I think Raiders was just a bit lighter. Lighting changes everything. Look at indoor scenes, that will be a better source of color than Cairo.
Peter, for a 1st shot it looks awesome. Now it's just everyone's nitpicky details to deal with (myself included).

I'm excited to finally get some gear, that doesn't cost booku bucks. Peter, please don't forget the forward setting epaulets. Tough to tell from the pics, but they look like they rest farther back or right on top of the shoulders.

Peter,
I emailed you these findings also, but thought I'd post them here too in case the attachments don't come through.
These shots illustrate that while there is a double seam on the shoulder, the epulets arent sewed into the second seam.
Hope this helps.

I cannot help but notice that dispite what prev members have said, and what my NH indicates, that the epaulettes are, in fact, triangular, and not squared off at the end. Peter's shirt adheres to this design properly.
Just an obervation

I too have a small stash of Raiders buttons, Pyro, and you're right, they are surprisingly impossible to match! In the US, anyway. But obviously Noel bought his somewhere; I doubt they manufactured their own buttons.
I guess they're British-made, like just about everything else in the Indygear pantheon...

Hi friends,
what about the accuracy of the shirt? Gerry from Wested told me that the shirt is ready now, but there are still the old pictures on the website...
Anyone knows more? Peter?
Regards,
Tom

Watch the Cairo rooftop scene. There's a very good shot of the epaulets, and they are definitely squared off.
This may bring up the point of different shirts having been used in different scenes in Raiders, just as as there were different hats and different jackets in different scenes.
Oh No!

Sorry for interjecting here, me being a n00b and all, but after watching the Cairo roof scene I think I have found why there scenes to be a discrepency (sp.) between pointed and flat ends, the point seems to have rolled up slightly, and given the camera angle appears to be flat.

Hello,
First let me say I think it is great that Peter will be making the shirt and pants!
Second, can I ask if the shirts will be available in a custom size, as the shirt I got from MBA years ago went to my brother because the 2XLT was more like a regular Large size. I know the shirt has a slimmer cut than most modern american clothes, so I hope I can get one to fit!
Third, here are some shots of the shirt in the cairo scene. I got the epaullettes with the sun on them, so the detail is pretty good. I can see the three sided shape, with the stitching running straight (if that makes sense). The raw screengrabs are sharp, I hope the cropped and converted to jpeg pics I'm posting will help. They are from three sequential frames off the dvd.
Thanks,
John D

One more where Indy is drinking at the bar (with the monkey!
).
I lightened it up some, as the epaulette was shaded.

Thanks, Redfour! I KNEW I wasn't seeing things.
My soon-to-be 50-year-old peepers weren't deceiving me...no points on the epaulets!

Anything new happening with these new shirts? Has anyone purchased one yet? Any new modifications that Peter has made to these shirts to help make them more screen-accurate?
Inquiring minds want to know, lol. I have been thinking about purchasing one!
Kind Regards,

We are also only going to be offering one type of shirt, the lighter weight one and not both, it was just the prototype that was made from the heavier fabric.
Cheers Peter
Stay Tuned for more info.

Sounds great! Maybe I should co-order one with my jacket.
The more gear the merrier! And an even harder wait I guess.

This may seem like a dumb question, but are the action pleats (I guess thats what they'd be called?
) fuctional, or are they just stiched on? I know it must have been discussed before, so please excuse the repeatitiveness (sp...heck is that even a word? lol) of any questions I may ask. And no one knows the exact changes that Peter made to the shirt yet? I guess we're just gonna have to wait and see. I too am curious on total cost of the shirt, as well as the pants, to the US.
