Grooved? The bag straps do not have grooves. Let's get the OCD micro-terminology straight. It's not grooved, it's CREASED! It is done with a tool called an edge creaser. I have a number of edge CREASERS on my workbench. Look it up on the internet. OSBORNE Tool company makes different size edge creasers for leather work. Sorry for my rant, just trying to keep up with the proper sharing and terminology of gear minutia. BTW this post is not directed at anyone specifically, so please don't take offense.

Call it whatever you want - it just drives me crazy!

I'm with Jake on the creasing but it doesn't drive me as crazy. I've always used the term 'bone folded' or creased cause that's what it used to say on the package not groover. I learned that you used a bone folder or a stitch groover to crease the edges. But after so many years on this forum I've converted to saying grooved now more than creased. Namely because if you say creased to someone you almost always have to back it up with grooved anyway. Are you getting my groove?

yes, I see them as well now. I think I was just really tired and was quick on the trigger about it not having grooves but now that I looked at it some more the grooves just jumped out to me.

here, the last picture is a real rifle sling. pretty close match to me.

so, my AB buckle came in the mail and installed it on the Todds strap. I had to smooth the buckle edges myself but I don't mind doing it.

Nice strap, but the screen used one has more of a "bulge" between the buckle

Kyle,

That could be because:

1. The strap in the above screen-cap was just a little loose in the buckle area
2. The strap leather was thicker.

EDIT: I just checked, I have a NH bagstrap with Wade's buckle that has the same "bulge" effect.

That taller bulge is the result of two pieces of leather through the buckle. Holt's photo looks like he took it with just one strap thickness (partially installed) running through?
