Yeah, we'll see eh? I think it'll all turn out okay...And I really hope so...Since the measurements fit for large on me, and I'm not quite a "46" in Wested terms..So I reckon the large is spot on, but I have to wait until tomorrow or Tuesday to know! Ah well...

I'll let you all know here as soon as I try it on and hopefully all will be fine...

My large has plenty of extra room in chest/body and I have a 43" chest. So I think you will do okay there. My concern for you would be the shoulders and the biceps.


Tomek, On my jacket, there is 2.25" of leather folded under on the cuffs.
Definately enough to extend the sleeves by 1.5". I've been thinking of adding an extra inch to mine.

Dunross, When you extended your sleeves, did it leave a crease where the old cuff was, or did the water take care of that as well?
The leather being so thin, I'm thinking the water will remove the crease line (hopefully).

yes, there is a slight crease, but H2O took care of most of it. not a big deal anyway. just from wearing the jacket for 1 day, the crease is hardly there...

　Yeah... Always my problem.. My back is wide and the shoulders and upper arms usually have a hard time fitting into most "large" sizes...But I went with the assumption that American "large" actually means large, rather than the Japanese "medium but we have to strive to be bigger so call this a "large" large sizes".... My Wested custom was spot on, naturally, and the 46 off the rack from there was good too though, so I'm hopeful that it'll fit fine!

Holt...I should get mine tonight...If it's decent I'll upload photos as soon as I can, today or tomorrow night...If it doesn't fit I'll be crying in a corner somewhere...LOL

Just a quick note to say that I saw one of these jackets, and I really thought it looked great. If they run out of the 'seconds', when Todd does another batch of them, they will be quite nice as well.

Well! It arrived tonight, and I just signed for it...

It's lovely! The size is great I think! The chest area isn't especially tight and I don't feel it pulling when I raise my arms up at all really...It is short, coming up to above my belt line, but so was my custom wested and I rather like that style!

Holt...If yours is XL you'll have NO worries mate..None at all..The large is a great fit for me and spot on with what Todd reported..

The grain is good too..Lovely leather..Just a touch darker than my off rack Wested but more grained..And light! I thought I'd gone with insulated, but without it honestly feels like a normal denim jacket..I really feel I could use this through our Japanese summer and although the humidity will probably prevent that, this jacket is light enough to consider the possibility!

weird. on dunross the jacket looked alittle tight and on you the bodybuilder that you are the jacket looks baggyish. weird. wonder how my XL will be and your bigger then me. lol. wow can't wait.

but just to make sure...We two kinda have the same issue with the fit. the armholes/biceps area. how are those on yours? the man reason for me going XL was that I wanted enough room in the armhole/bicep area and the shoulder across back.

again THANKS for the great pictures. this is the coolest jacket I have seen you in. you wear it well!!!and the back really looks good. the roundish yoke realy looks like the raiders yoke. funny I have never noticed that but I now see how the yoke curves downward slightly is actually SA.

The armholes aren't so tight I'd notice..There's no "squeeze" there at all...Sliding into the arms is easy..Having worn it for a while now why the Pecards dried in I can say that there's a slight pull in the back if I lean both my arms forward at once, but it's not considerable and nowhere near uncomfortably noticeable..It's actually a really lovely jacket to wear..Easy to move in!

I had concerns over the armholes and shoulders too, and although it's close my shoulders aren't wider than the seams, so the whole thing fits perfectly.. There's about three fingers space under the arms still, about 4-5cms or so...And the gussets as well, so it fits snug, but not "close" I'd say!

And yeah, being a bodybuilder it's been hard working sizing out for these things! But recently I've lowered my training ratio and I'm aiming at being in better shape rather than "bigger", so perhaps that has helped me fit? (Although, thinking about it, my frame isn't seriously changed by that..Although my shoulders are less "inflated"..I've lost about 15kg's over the course of 8months now, and although some of that was fat I'm still weighing in at 86kg's more or less...At 176cm (5'8") that's just about right for my Jujutsu training..)

I'd guess your arm size is about the same as mine? And if so, you'll have no problems with the jacket's armholes...It's great to wear! (Almost feels custom made actually...)..

I wouldn't say "baggy"...But it's not "close" either...It's just right

By the way, with all this size talk, I wear a 42 regular suit and I've had three Todd's jackets in the past, a M, a L, and an XL. The M and L were the 'old style.' The XL is about a year old. By far the XL is the best fit. The M was really snug. The L was OK, but a little restrictive. The XL has been great. Maybe a little snug across the shoulders, but otherwise fine. I ordered the Bantu Wind in XL.

Two full pages posted and only one jacket seen to date.

SURELY there's more out there by now.

This is a great thread. It's nice when something surprisingly good happens - like a very cool jacket at a really great price!! From what's been posted so far, these jackets look like a terrific deal. Hope you all enjoy them and post more pics.

ttthhhhaats what got me in this bid'ness in the first place! That and the front bumper of the truck scene. Cool leather! Thicker and grainier than the older run of Todd's Standards. Fits truer to normal size. I think you guys are going to really like this SNAFU! Pics to follow...

Entirely agreed.... For a "mistake" this has to be up there with some of the best ever...

I wore the jacket to work this morning, and I love it! With a suit and my black Fed it goes rather well... Short enough to suit a suit..If you see what I mean? I liked the look!

Size wise I'd guess you're okay following Todd's chart and being honest with your own sizing...As far as I can tell on my own the sizes quoted are accurate, although I only have one so can't be sure..

Got mine today! I'd post pictures, but honestly there is nothing to see that isn't in fifthchamber's pics. Fits as well if not better than my Westeds. Leather is a *little* stiff and there were some corners creased over from packing, but nothing a little Houston humidity won't solve in a jiffy. I've given it a pretty good once-over and I can't find any defects at all. I got the XL without the quilted liner. I'm 5'7" and 220lbs. Leather has just a little texturing, which I prefer. If I had to nit-pick I'd say the zipper is the only mild issue. You can tell it's a bit cheap, but after a few zip-ups it seems to be running good now. I'm also happy that the zipper goes all the way to the bottom of the storm flap.

All in all, worth every single penny. That was the least hassle, best ROI purchase I've made in a long time! Now, I have to decide whether to buy another one for distressing or just go at the one I have. Hmm. Decisions, decisions.

Couldn't resist. Bought another one. Worst case scenario: it's a gift. Best case scenario: awesome distressing.

I was just glad I fitted okay at first but then I looked at it, and it REALLY is just a VERY GOOD SA Jacket...The seam line isn't perfect, (or NOT perfect, depending on your view) but the whole thing just screams "Raiders"...

I watched the films starting sequence again yesterday to check the matching points, and it's VERY, VERY close....Interesting that you pay a lot less than you'd expect and get a jacket that is SO close....Lucky for us all that Todd's manufacturer messed up a touch! (And I'm now honestly considering a re-look at the Todd's line when the "correct" versions arrive....)

Could anyone here put up some photos of the insulated Jackets? I'd like to see the differences...Mine, I don't believe is...And I can't remember if I asked for it...But I must have been thinking about it since I thought mine was until I looked closely...

I don't believe I clicked insulated, or it might have been clicked automatically? Did anyone else receive an insulated jacket without asking? I'm not saying I don't like the insulation, it just seems unnecessary as I don't see myself using an insulated jacket in So. Cal!

Plus, I'm pretty sure Todd is sold out on these jackets, and I do remember him saying: "no returns, no exchanges" or something of the sort

His website still shows them as available....

Although I'd doubt you'd get a return, since it's not strictly speaking Todd's fault? Ask them perhaps? And if not, do what I was going to do if mine didn't fit, sell it and jump on for a better sized one!

I checked "no"...it was even noted on my receipt in the box. But I don't mind too much-I don't have any other jacket with quilted lining.

I'm tempted to get this jacket as the thinner leather would suit the climate where I'm living in. But I'm holding back because of the sizing. The two US wings that I had (Hero and Imported Old Cow Legend) although small still fit rather roomy for me.

Is the overall fit of this jacket smaller than those US Wings, even for a large?

Looking at the measurements given on the large, seems like the backlength is perfect, and sleeves are okay but what about the shoulders? Seems like the large is closer to a medium on the current Todd's standard.

Any measurements for a large shoulder to shoulder?

Really, really tempted to get some stuff from Todd's.

Across the front, arm/shoulder seam to arm/shoulder seam, following the straight line from the neck to the shoulder bone, 49cm and a little...

What you could try is one of the insulated Jackets perhaps? Mine isn't.... And although a couple of people here have said they have them, we haven't seen any photos....Perhaps the large with insulation would solve the shoulder issues for you?

Insulated lining?? Hmm...it's gonna be hot as sauna for me in Malaysia Still I'll be interested to see more pics. the shoulder isn't really a big issue since I believe the Indy jacket style has this peculiar droop on the shoulders.

Well, the jacket itself looks just like any of the other non-insulated jackets except the inside has a quilted lining.

that will affect the drape wont it? I imagine the jacket will look alittle more ''puffy''?

Come to think of it, is this the new run for the Todd's Standard? With the corrected Yoke/Sleeve seam alignment? If it is perhaps I'll wait for the new batch when it's available to get a medium. But ####....the textures on this Bantu Wind is really, really nice.
