When we run out of felts, we depend on the felt factory schedule...so 60-90 days -approx-.
But, we currently have a couple felts on stock, so the waiting is about 30-45 days from payment.
For more detailed info, send me an e-mail to:

Just wanted to share a few photos of my new Explorador Raiders lid. I can't express how much I am truly impressed with this fedora. I have had the chance to wear it on a few film shoots and most recently a camping trip as you will see in this first round of photos. The felt is very smooth and well finished. I could go on and on about the top notch customer service.

Thanks a lot for your words...
Last week, some friends (non-Indy fans) came home and had a kind of party,and it usually happens that people who never would wear a fedora, finds it quite funny and then they all agree hat wearing should return, cause it's classy...
Here are some pics, after some whisky and whiskey...
These are our Explorador'57 and our Viajero'36...
And our Keith Richards' Fedora! (It's a joke, just fooling around with a Work in Progress hat)

Looks like it was a kind of far away for many people to come, but you are right...it sounds good "The Fedoras Whiskey Party"...Why not to make a COW members only "fedora owners whiskey drinkers" party???
I hope to get back to the US this year (first I need to get som Jerry Lee Lewis concert tickets)...but when I have them, I'm game in...

This has probably been mentioned on this site, somewhere before, but upon a quick search, I didn't find any info regarding this question. Are these hats pretty pliable -- meaning 'not to stiff' and a little floppy? I like mine a bit in between -- enough stiffness that they hold shape, but still with some pliability to 'play with,' if that makes sense. Thanks, ahead of time for any resoncses to this question and again, if I missed it elsewhere -- oops, sorry. W>

The felt is floppy and keeps the shape very well.
However it would be nice to hear opinion from costumers.

Members asked me about the process we do on our hats.
I thought it would be interesting to post the full response in here.
I prefer to post it in here instead of the Vendor Announcement section because many don't go to that section.
To clarify some doubts, I'll write some characteristics of our work: (much of this info is already stated on our website)
* We have no company. We do this as a hobby. By fans, for the fans. We do this for pleasure, no stress.
* Felt is 100% hare.
We buy (localy) the felt body and the sweatband (soft authentic leather, in black). Ribbon (rayon high quality grossgrain) and lining (fine silk) from Europe.
This is the process:
- block the felt (on our own blocks). This stage involves water and lots of steam.
- ironing the felt
- dimensional cut
- pouncing the felt with 5 different sand papers measurements
- first application of Water Repellant
- attaching the sweatband (with sewing machine)
- attaching ribbon and bow
- attaching inner lining (glued)
- bashing
- second application of Water Repellant
Regards.-

Last CS fedora I made.
IMO, the best I did.
It's easier now having an authentic AB CS.
Goes to Mike, who agreed to trade it for an idol, which BTW it's perfect (thanks!)
With all respect to the original maker, AND MASTER, Mr. Steve Delk.

Indiego: That looks 'spot on.' The only suggestion I could make is that the bow of the ribbon is a bit high, thus not totally covering the stiching from the liner. But, man oh man, the styling is hot! Superb! W>

I had played with the idea that my new fedora would arrive just in time for the Raiders at the Imax event...well, the good Lord heard me cause at about 3pm that Friday I got a call from Mom that a package had arrived from Argentina. BUT, that it was in very bad shape! I was pressed for time and at about 6pm I made it over and found this.....
http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h304/ ... 094637.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
even with a sticker from the post office saying that they were sorry for damaging my package....
http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h304/ ... 094702.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Upon opening what was left of the package, while the hat wasn`t itself damaged, the shape and bash were! The brim was very warped and the crown was wonky. I was late for the show so I just left it. Later, over the weekend I was able to look it over and see what I had.....
This hat is AMAZING! I am very surprised that these hats have not been touted more about. They are incredibly cool.
The color of the felt and ribbon are great. The materials are wonderful and the fit was right on. The felt used is, in my opinion, some of the best felt I have ever felt on a hat.....and I have had plenty of hats of all prices and quality. I especially loved the liner....more so than any hat I have owened..
http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h304/ ... 112303.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
embroidered in, it looks and feels very classy.
I have started the process of trying to get in back into what it probly looked like when it was originally packaged and tweak it for myself here and there but it is one of those "perfect right outathe box" hats and they did a wonderful amazing job.
I give it , not one, but two thumbs up...
http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h304/ ... 095524.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I love my new hat!
here is a link to more shots of it from all angles..
http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h304/ ... xplorador/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and as I write I look up and see it on my desk and it looks so darn cool...

Dear Gorak,
Thanks for this review, and your kind words.
Now, to the hat:
OMG!!! I've never believed US POST could handle a package this bad. It never happen this, not at this destruction rate.
Unbelievable. (side note: the box we use it's very-VERY resistant)
I can see the brim (bow side) got up-curl. You can fix it, just gently "teaching" the brim down.
And the bash on the crown is completly blown away. The original reverse-taper on the right side, it's now on both sides!
However, I can see you have skills for bashing, and you fixed it nicely.
On this pictures the hat it's almost like it should be:
http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/4649 ... 092857.png" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I say almost because of the bow. (how the US POST guys managed to squash the bow like that?...
)
Here are a few instructions:
1) Find a small stick, rounded no sharp points
2) Then put it through between the two front stitches, very gently, and softly pull the bow slightly to the outside. To give that "puffy" look we all know. See this image as guide:
http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/120/correctingbow.png" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here's how the hat looked when I put it inside the box, and try to "puffy" that bow out!
http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/4323/191sample.png" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Let me know if you have any doubt.
Regards.-

Hi Indiego, I bought one of your hats about half a year ago.
Due to storage, I noticed that the front of the brow have lost a lot of its original curvature (as seen in the Raiders Fedora
)
Do you have any tips of how to get back that front curvature?
Thanks!

It's strange..when I wear the Fedora, it looks much better. I don't know, what are your opinion? Should it be more curved on the front part of the brim?
(I remember it having the same curvature as the one pictured in my last post when it first arrived from you).

You're right, you should increase the curve on the front brim.
Try to ROLL the front brim down, but without losing the brim curl on the sides,
gently WORK the felt.
Here's a video I just did for you:
