Good luck.. I missed out on Todds and Aldo stock.. Aldens for Sunday best, but no work boot options left, or are there? Pricey, but Magnoli may fit the bill..

Once I get these new kicks (I went for the free shipping, 3-6 business days) I'll chime back in.

These do look the Indy-ish part, but I'm really hoping they're just decent daily-wear boots.
Where did you order from? I can't find stock of any variant online, not even on eBay. The Aldo store in town also gave me a blank look! Struggling to find a pair of every day boots.

I went to Google.com, selected the "Shopping" tab and then typed "aldo shoes boots rodiguez" and "aldo shoes boots diangelo" for each pair.

When I searched like that I got hits that were on the Aldo site and that's how I ordered. This was after I had gone straight to Aldo and searched for the same thing but didn't find anything.

The Rodiguez boots came today and were awesome looking boots. I say were because they were about a half-size too big for me. So, they are going back.

They were nice and really looked like a good everyday boot. Comfortable to walk/stand around in, but ultimately just wouldn't have worked for the amount of walking I do in a day. Maybe with hiking socks, like I'd wear in the winter, but not my Army wool cushion-soles I normally wear.

I will say the return process, so far, is easy. Just navigate to the Aldo site, Log in with your information (hint: use the order number and the zip code for where you had them delivered to you), then request a return for the item and state a reason why being returned. Done. UPS replies within 48 hours and (if this works like it does with my work) you should get a return label for your box. Drop off at a UPS pickup and your refund will follow.

Nice for something to not be a nightmare.

(P.S. Got the UPS return label pretty much immediately.)

Before you send them back; (too late right?) what size did you get. I've Googled and all I can find are ALDO RODIGUEZ size 9, which is too small. US 10 or size 43 would be nice but I think Indygear have bought them all!

Sorry, I had 8 US/41 EUR, which is what I take in 90% of my other shoes. Just not these.

In my honest opinion things like this are not worth your time or money. If you can afford to pay nearly $100 right now you would be better off taking that money and start saving for a pair of Aldens. Save a little here and little there. Doesn't have to be that much. I've had my 405's for nearly 11 years now and they are toughest boots one could ever ask for. I've only had to replace the soles one time and the heels a few times over the years. I have worn them while filming on location, hiking, caving, and out on the town. They have been soaked with water many times and always bounce right back. They are worth saving for even if it takes several months. Once you have Aldens you won't want to take them off and you'll have them for decades.

Cheers ;)

Good point, but I think there's a trade off. I am ordering Aldens now but I wouldn't want to wear them climbing temple ruins in Cambodia, not until they've been well and truly weathered. A less expensive pair that can be put thru the mill now and without a 9 month wait time is also a reason to have a cheaper pair. If I could get Aldens in two weeks all the time, I would of course agree with you completely. Personally, I wish Todd's had stock. Todd's and Aldens, perfect!

I should add that I'm referring to Adventurebilt custom made Aldens. :D

Bogie, I am kind of at that point, not from frustration; rather more so from a point of closing-in-on-middle-aged-frugality. I'll probably bite the bullet and go the Aldens route at some point. Just not now.

I don't want Indy boots for just Indy boots. I want daily-wear boots. If they look Indy-ish that's fine, but not my main goal. Period-looking or retro is probably the more accurate description of what I'm looking for. You've had good luck with yours, that's cool.

I've got shoes I paid under $50 bucks some 8+ years ago that I still wear, not to count the same Sambas I've worn for probably over a decade. I wore the original heels on my Todd's to the cork, then had those replaced with rubber as opposed to the hard plastic, and they are still going strong. Honestly those are the one's I want again they worked so well.

I considered both sets of these Aldos an experiment and I'm getting my money back, something I checked on before ordering, so I'm cool with how things turned out. I'd be happier if they worked out, but hey, it's just a pair of shoes.

(PS: The Diangelos were also too big. Whoever said these run small/tight, I didn't see that as the case. For me they ran big, like a half-size or more big. Oh well, back they go.)
