One of the last questions I asked Tony when I put the analysis together was "How many if these di you WANT to make?" One per week? Three per week? One per month? With a boutique product like this, that's kinda the crux. He was comfortable going two-three per week. Maybe Riley only has time for one every two weeks.

Could be Riley is pricing to keep the demand somewhat lower. No different than when Steve changed his fedora pricing to drive down demand. The same hats that were once $250 were $400 and now $650.

Same with David Morgan's whips.

Fair enough. Just trying to propose an alternate reason. I agree that going from $700 to $950 to $1250 since April is steep. I wouldn't pay that for a jacket made by Tony himself that would carry the 'original maker' panache that's no longer available even with the TNO tag.

To the original topic of the thread, whereas I don't have a jacket from Magnoli, I have had his adventure boots, Wyoming skarf and sweater for over a year and have been very pleased with the customer service at the time of purchase and the quality since.

Retailers were selling them for $20 a pack? These cards cost me $0.17 a pack - fully loaded - to make. I could sell all I made all day long. It was insane and completely based on irrational perceptions of value. I won't be shy - six months at Wizards turned my options into 7-figures because of irrational value perceptions.
You b*****d! Is that why I could never get that ultra-rare Charmander card I kept ripping open my $20 packs to find? Artficial inflation?!?!? In a free-market economy? NOOOO!

So leather prices aren't going up? I've heard that they are from other people in my recent searching on jackets, even vendors that aren't here have told me that. Maybe they're just all jumping on the bandwagon?

Thanks for the tutorial. :TOH: There's a reason I actively seek out _'s posts. 8-[] So Riley's price gouging. [-X And people make irrational purchasing decisions.

Most interesting about the pricing of leather. :TOH:

Just placed my order for a Magnoli goatskin LC with a few modifications! Thanks to all those who chimed in! I guess we can lock this one down and I can start a new thread to show off the jacket once it arrives. Or is there a Magnoli thread yet? I've seen a few individual threads, but not one for all Magnoli jackets...

Excelsior!

Good for you, Riothamus! There might be a Magnoli thread around, you'll have to look. If not, definitely share pics when it comes in! And since you said this one might as well be closed down, I'll do just that. ;)
