You are forgetting the most important part about Peter puting our names
and nicknames in the jacket......Its free!!
You know, like all the muffins and doughnuts and other fatting stuff at the
buffet table. You know that if you had to pay for it, you would never eat
THAT much. But because its FREE, we load up like there is no tomorrow!
Its human nature baby!!
All praise the almighty all you can eat!! It has made us into the monuments
that we are today. No, wait, I mean the size of monuments. Yeah
that sounds more correct...

Renderking I guess we're fine for now but when we have to start buying jackets just for our ego's alone to wear then we may find ourselves broke and want to start heavy medication. I hear knocking in the attic, time to feed the ego!

Sizing

OK, I had a friend who knows how to sew take my mesurments. To all who know me do these sound right?
Height:
68 inches
Chest:
41 inches. Maybe 42
Back:
20 inches wide by 20 inches long Thats shoulder to shoulder and from base of neck to an inch below my belt.
Arms:
Right 24 3/4, Left 23 1/4 (that's before adding the inch extra)
Shoulders:
6 1/2
Neck:
17 1/2 inches
I should mention that I weigh about 180 right now. I intend on getting down to 155-165. I carry my weight in my gut.
Before I order I will ask one of you who have measured for a Wested to aid me to be certain I am doing this correct. I just want to make sure before so no alterations will be needed.
Cheers,
Jeff

Okay, now convert the inches to centimeters. (just kidding!)
Here are some measurements I gave Peter as well 2 years ago when I ordered my Wested:
Shoulder to Shoulder across back
Lower Back width
Armpit to cuff
Armpit to waist
Sleeve Length (shoulder to cuff)
Sleeve Length (back of neck to cuff)

Gobler, here's how I did it and my first Wested was spot on perfect. Try to find a shirt or jacket you own with the measurement in it. All I had that wasn't just large or Medium was a 42 reg trench coat that looks a tad big on me. The one thing I have no extra room for is the shoulders so I knew I needed at least a 42 reg in that area. Then go to Westeds website for their measuring, and flightsuits. If you follow the measuring on both sites you'll get a good idea what you need. By following the average sizes on those sites I got a good idea what measurement I was looking for and basically which off the rack size I would have to buy, and tweak it from there.

By the way I'm 5'8" and about 155 lbs and a 42 reg Wested fits perfect on me.

You have one arm that is an inch and half longer than the
other one? That seems kinda odd. Are you sure you measured
that right?
If you send Peter those measurements, you will get a jacket with
those measurements, so beware!

Yeah, and that will make it harder to resell. Schwammy posted on another thread yesterday that this sometimes happen...If you're right-handed then there will naturally be more muscles in that hand, which will stretch that arm out a bit. Hearing this from schwammy was the first I've heard of this. I'm off to measure my arms now...hmmm.

I have heard of peoples arms being off some, but not as
much as one and a half inches.
My right arm (I am right handed) is about a quarter inch
shorter than my left. But an inch and half would mean
every piece of clothing with long sleeves would never fit
correctly, and would need to be altered.
I think its a typo myself. But until its cleared up, I can
only assume that. And you know what they say about
people who assume...

Yeah, I just noticed the leanth on the arms. I think perhaps she mixed the numbers. I can see 23 3/4 and 24 1/4 being about right. At any rate I heard from Peter and he gave me a good method to do my measuring so I will go by what he uses. The man is quick to respond to an e-mail. I'm getting excited about my jacket. OK I will take it slow and by the numbers..
So this is what I have so far on ordering my Wested.
Style: Raiders
Hide: Authentic Goat
Slides: New black ones
Zipper: Nickel and I am requesting it go to about an inch from bottom
Collar: Smaller and closer to Raiders
Gussets: Yes
Press studs: No
Lining: Cotton body with satin sleves
Storm flap: Standard
Length: Raiders with inch extra in front and on sleves
Elastic in the pleats on the back
Name tag
zipper on inside pocket
Well, that's about it. Any suggestions or advice are welcome. I thank you all. Your input will insure I get a jacket I will love.
Cheers,
Jeff

The FS 40R fits me just right and the Wested 44R fits me the same. That's comparing a couple of 40R Expos to a couple of 44R Wested jackets with no special alterations in sleeve lengths, shoulders, etc. I guess British sizing must be different.
