Re: Thank You Wested
I had some credit from a clearance jacket which was returned some time ago, and so I decided to get a custom Rotla. The specs were fine, except for the fact that the zipper was the heavy gague silver #8. As you may know, the Rotla pattern is only supposed to include either the #5 nickel or brass zip. All of that to say that I have believed occasionally that the leather technicians appear to be taking their own "liberty" on these jackets and then sending them out the door. Enough to be irritating, but not quite enough to go through the hassle of sending it back...for those customers across the pond.

I wish every Wested custom standard looked like the one you got
Horse 2 years sames specs except for the pockets (and the collar)

This is to illustrate one of my numerous wrong choices : raiders jacket just does'nt work with a heavy hide !
I used to read it here and there. But ... I wanted a strong hide !
There are dozens ways to mess a jacket on an order.
I used to be excited reading warm reports on brand new jackets. The threads "show us your one year jackets" never were huge success.
This quest is a "vallée de larmes"

I was going to say the exact same thing, the jacket look good but it look better on you because you're in good shape. If I was going to try on this jacket, it wouldn't look that good.Tundrarider wrote: Thank you for the very kind and thoughtful words!!! One reason your jackets look so great on you is your physique. You appear to be in great shape and as a result the jackets are even more flattering on you. Sort of like a clothing "model"; no matter what you wear, you make it look good!!!
This doesn't mean the jackets aren't awesome on their own, because they are.
I'm really glad that you "revived" or "recreated" your jacket thread. There is "too much good stuff" here and deserves a place on this forum.
Thank you again, Jack. I look forward to seeing more from you around the board!
Michael
Anyway, enjoy your jacket!
Re: Thank You Wested
You're right that the HH doesn't give you that Raiders "drape" but it is a very nice hide. I've got a Wested HH that is my "beating around" jacket that I really like.
