Me too. I started to head for the fabric store yesterday, I was going to buy at least 12 feet of cheesecloth or something, but I decided to keep my money. No doubt it CAN be done. I think that guy agent5 might have the necessary skills...

LOL!
Okay...that pic made me laugh so hard I coughed. Absolutely perfect for this thread.
3K, thanks so much for the compliment. Here's a couple more shots.

You're RUINING my theory and getting DUST on the floor!!! I wonder if Michaelson was thinking of this picture, yet remembers it as being UNDER ther turban, because that was his impression watching the movie?
Michaelson wrote:Sounds like the Mad Magazine cartoon version they did of Raiders, doesn't it? They DID have his hat wrapped up in the turban as I recall.

You know, ... a turban is actually one of 3 Indy hats from Raiders. There's the brown and the grey fedora and ... the turban. Here's another western movie guy in a turban . Note the shoulder strap. Lawrence of Arabia was where Omar Sharif made his mark. He was in "Hidalgo", a Raiders spin-off (tip of the hat anyway) with the line "sit down before you fall down" among other obvious nods to Raiders.

I think turbans are black and white.

When I was a kid and watched the movies I was under the impression the hat was under the turbin because Indy's looked some much bigger than everyone elses. As I got older I figured it was hid with his jacket, whip and gun.
Wearing these hats in the sun by themselves can make you hot, I can't imagine wrapping a bunch of cloth on top of it would be very comfortable for Ford while he was shooting those scenes. It wouldn't make much sense for the fictional Indy character to do it that way either....

Fabric draped over a hat would be cooler and lighter than the same volume of solid cloth wrappings. There'd be voids with a hat in the mix. Thank You Pitfall! I guess this means our first impressions were probably correct..Pitfall Harry wrote:When I was a kid and watched the movies I was under the impression the hat was under the turbin because Indy's looked some much bigger than everyone elses. This is true. His turban had shades of a light-pink to coincide with T.E.'s feminine side.
Someone needs to photoshop a Hello Kitty sticker on it.

This one has apparently gone as far as it can go at this stage, don't cha think? Unless someone can come up with a good reason for this to continue, let's ring down the curtain on this thread.
