It really blows my mind when I see Indy-esque hats in a different color. It looks simply amazing!
That hat would look fantastic with a matching suit!

I'm so happy the this thread/hat was bumped as I would never have seen it otherwise.

Fedora, Bravo sir  ! That is an absolutly beautiful hat. Mila has on occasion lamented that I rarely ever venture out from under my Indy hat and into a diffrent style or color. Which is true...I'm a creature of habit, but I think I'd step out of my box for this hat. It's sublime. Thanks for showing us a great look.

Michaelson, That's a hat for wearing proudly about town! Now a reminder...pictures!!!

Cheers!

Yeah this hhat solidified my purchase of a sahaa hat from Steve. I asked him to put a copper/rust colored ribbon on it though, instead of the camel color. Different specs though. I can't wait to get it. Should be sometime this year.

Mark, I want to see pics by next Monday. That's your homework...and Michaelson, chapters four and five.

I just finished up one for my partner Marc. Same color, same hat really. Started it in Sept and finished it up last week. Almost 6 month again! But, understand, I have to work just a little over a long period of time, in order not to interfer with my regular hatmaking. Next will be Dave's and then finally me!!!! So, Marc, Michaelson and I, will be wearing the same hat. The 3 Amigos. Dave wants the copper ribbon, I think, which I can't wait to see on this hat. Looks great holding up it against the hat body though. And so vintage like too. That's the great thing about alot of vintage hats. They really used the ribbon color to set the hat off, when you left the brown color hats. Art Fawcett specializes in this vintage combos, and I got the idea from looking at his work on another forum. I just add the adventure look to my hats. It's the Indy influence that I am enamored with, to a large degree. Plus, it brings back the dimensional brim that isn't new, but was seldom used, even in the old days. There really is nothing new in hatting. If you think you have come up with something new, chances are, you didn't! Fedora

Steve, you have my permission to make yourself this hat before you make mine. Please do. You deserve that. Call me before it goes on the block though as I want to talk specs with you. And you have no idea how awesome it is to hear that the felt/ribbon combo "looks great." Oh, and please post pictures of Marc's hat before you send it out. I really want to see it!

Will do Dave!

On Marc's hat, I did not get any pics as it was basically the same as the one on this thread. After I had made it, I saw where I had wrote down that Marc wanted the khaki ribbon! So, I guess he will have to suffer the camel, until he needs me to refurb it! But, I like this camel/sahari combo. Earthtones still, which always looks good. Fedora

That's never been the problem. It's getting me, the equipment, and the ways and means of downloading said shot onto the internet all in the same place at the same time. This old home computer is so worn out, there's no way to download photos. That has to be done somewhere else. The daughters have the cameras.

I'll see what we can do, though. The youngest daughter is home this weekend, though not at the moment. SHE has the camera, and the ways and means of downloads at a friends house. Hopefully at least that can get done, but I promise nothing.

No promises necessary, my friend.

How are you finding matching this hat up with your wardrobe now that you've had it in your rotation for a few months? Was the difficulty just when your first received the hat or does it persist. I have a feeling I will get sahara to match up nicely with much of my wardrobe but I won't know until I have it in hand.

I'm one of those folks who rarely bothers 'matching' things up. Even my daughters have kidded me for years that for whatever reason, I can seem to wear completely non-matching clothing, and somehow it works.

I've worn this hat with black and brown jackets, khaki trousers and blue jeans, any color shirt that's clean and ironed....no problem.

So far, nothing but thumbs up from anyone who has noticed, but that said, hardly anyone even notices or cares one way or the other.

This really is a fine looking hat, I must say. One of the things I love about this color is you can match it up with so many different ribbon colors. Very versatile, very stylish, very well done as always!

Yes. Sahari is a neutral color. Which means, almost any other color will go with it. I learned that not from fashion, but from the counter tops that I had to install on my cabinets way back. But the same pertains to hats. A neutral color will go with any ribbon color, just depends upon personal taste. Fedora
