Steve, you have my permission to make yourself this hat before you make mine. Please do. You deserve that. Call me before it goes on the block though as I want to talk specs with you. And you have no idea how awesome it is to hear that the felt/ribbon combo "looks great." Oh, and please post pictures of Marc's hat before you send it out. I really want to see it!Fedora wrote:I just finished up one for my partner Marc. Same color, same hat really. Started it in Sept and finished it up last week. Almost 6 month again! But, understand, I have to work just a little over a long period of time, in order not to interfer with my regular hatmaking. Next will be Dave's and then finally me!!!! So, Marc, Michaelson and I, will be wearing the same hat. The 3 Amigos.Dave wants the copper ribbon, I think, which I can't wait to see on this hat. Looks great holding up it against the hat body though. And so vintage like too. That's the great thing about alot of vintage hats. They really used the ribbon color to set the hat off, when you left the brown color hats. Art Fawcett specializes in this vintage combos, and I got the idea from looking at his work on another forum. I just add the adventure look to my hats. It's the Indy influence that I am enamored with, to a large degree. Plus, it brings back the dimensional brim that isn't new, but was seldom used, even in the old days. There really is nothing new in hatting. If you think you have come up with something new, chances are, you didn't!

Here he goes again.
I'll do the reading, but I NEVER turn in homework.DR Ulloa wrote:Mark, I want to see pics by next Monday. That's your homework...and Michaelson, chapters four and five.

Yes. Sahari is a neutral color. Which means, almost any other color will go with it. I learned that not from fashion, but from the counter tops that I had to install on my cabinets way back. This really is a fine looking hat, I must say. One of the things I love about this color is you can match it up with so many different ribbon colors. Very versatile, very stylish, very well done as always!
and I got my eye for it due to being a painting contracter many moons ago... Alas, the chapter's of our lives weave the fabric of who we are...Fedora wrote:Yes. Sahari is a neutral color. But the same pertains to hats. A neutral color will go with any ribbon color, just depends upon personal taste. Fedora
