I appreciate that, and KNOW that, but Tony needs to understand a lot of us are slammed for time too, and as you well know, there IS no such thing as a 'short phone call' with Tony Nowak!RCSignals wrote:Michaelson wrote:........
Oh, and I sure wish Tony would get around to reading email again. I've sent a couple to him regarding questions I have, and have received from other members, and he has yet to reply to any of them (with the exception of a quick note saying 'nice to hear from you!' No answers, but at least a nice 'hello!' More than I've received from a couple OTHER vendors that will remain un-named. )

Oh, and Michaelson, I think you'd better call Tony: I'm getting the impression that he just dislikes talking trough e-mail and loves to be able to talk to someone in "real-time".

He's been extremely busy lately and even hard to get on the telephone. Leave your number and he will get back to you. If you have a specific time you don't wan tot be called later than, tell him that too.
How exactly do you measure the back? Where do you start measuring?Indiana G wrote:holt,

I always wondered this myself. So um, which part is the collar stand lol? Is it the point where the collar is attached to the back panel? I want to measure my two westeds and G&B to compare. and yet it isn't. One extra inch of length though doesn't make that much difference.Zendragon wrote:
I like the added length in the jacket, it looks more correct to my eye.

It isn't based on what information? Not to get off topic, so you can answer via a PM.RCSignals wrote:and yet it isn't. One extra inch of length though doesn't make that much difference.Zendragon wrote:

of course if you are long in the back that one inch can make all the difference
The added length isn't correct. originally it is 23"Zendragon wrote:It isn't based on what information? Not to get off topic, so you can answer via a PM.RCSignals wrote:and yet it isn't. One extra inch of length though doesn't make that much difference.Zendragon wrote:

ha ha!!! when i was ordering my jackets via phone, i'd always fill the family in with what tony and i discussed. it would always start out with, "that was tony nowak......he made the crystal skull jackets for harrison ford you know........"...after some synchronized rolling of the eyes from both of them, the oldest would always say, "why don't you just marry him then???"Hatch wrote:When he was working on my CS he used to call about 9-10 pm central time to discuss measurement , double check (measurements I had taken from another jacket), shoot the breeze about 'all things Indy' , always lasted at least 20 or more minutes.......my wife got so she would say as she handed me the phone : " It's your boyfriend "......

yeah that is what I thought, but then at a 44 Indiana G should have a longer back? He asked for 1 inch more so initially that was 23"_ wrote:23" has to be just for the 40 R base size?Dutch_jones wrote:Just to be clear here, the TN is 23 inch in the back standard on all sizes?
Because I seem to recall the 23" was the HF measurement but harrison was a size 40? I always assumed that it would go up with size?
23" is the back length of HFs Raider jacket. That length though won't necessarily change just because a persons chest size goes up. It will change depending on someones height and back length. (or simply jacket length preference. If you mostly wear more modern more low cut pants you may need it longer)Dutch_jones wrote:yeah that is what I thought, but then at a 44 Indiana G should have a longer back? I don't know ! I might be mistaken here! G shed some light? What is the back length on your other two TN 1's?
I'm 6'1" and would normally take a 43" chest, with relatively broad shoulders and long arms. When I measured myself for my jacket, giving myself a snug chest fit and slightly longer sleeve length, and gave the measurements to Tony, he said "Do you know you're Harrison Ford's size except for the sleeve length?" IE the same as 000/888. The lenght looks shortish, but is spot on in comparison pics. Don't know if that helps._ wrote:23" has to be just for the 40 R base size?

I like this photoshop that Holt did of Ford with the 000 jacket.Zendragon wrote: This is why I say that G's jacket looks closer to what my eyes are used to seeing. Thoughts? Again, sorry if this has been talked about already, I missed it if it had.
The jacket Tony measured was 23". I just measured my sleeves and hey are about 7-7.5" longer than the bottom hem. That would bring the standard difference back to 6" on the stock version, so yes, your guess is correct. Are you talking about the complete making of book? What pages? I am about 6' away from my copy, but perhaps this discussion should be taken to another thread, away from G's awesome jacket. Back length, etc. discussions always infect everything.Zendragon wrote:Not to get off topic, but since we are discussing back length.
I was looking at an Indiana Jones book over the weekend, which has tons of pics in it.
To me, the 000/888 jacket looks off. Either the sleeves look too long or the jacket length looks too short. It almost appears that there is about a 6" inch difference from the bottom of the jacket to the bottom of the arms.
Sure, this could just be camera angles, and please forgive me if this has already been answered, but are we sure that the Raider's jacket that HF wore was 23" in the back? Or is this the measurement that Tony got from the jacket he copied?
With my G&B, there is only about 3" or so difference between the sleeves and the bottom of the jacket and that one is based off of the measurements that _ took from another screen used jacket.
This is why I say that G's jacket looks closer to what my eyes are used to seeing. Thoughts? Again, sorry if this has been talked about already, I missed it if it had.
That's very cool. Couple of things worth noting about han's costume. Those pants ran a little high at the waist, higher than the Indy pants IMO, so while the arm length looks correct, the jacket length may still be short.Baldwyn wrote:I like this photoshop that Holt did of Ford with the 000 jacket.Zendragon wrote: This is why I say that G's jacket looks closer to what my eyes are used to seeing. Yes: I fear your headgear isn't SAYojimbo Jones wrote: Any questions / issues?
I agree and suspect that's the best thing to do, since this whole TN Raiders jacket back length issue has been discussed so much, and always gets to 'where did the jacket TN had to copy from from'Yojimbo Jones wrote:

Let's.... leave G his thread and see if we can have a jacket discussion that doesn't end in a thread closureYojimbo Jones wrote:Zendragon wrote:That's very cool. Looks pretty much identical to me! I'm wearing a 23" back, 6'1" the same as Ford. Any questions / issues?
(edit - actually, the top pic makes me realise if I took off the extra arm length it would be MORE spot on. So I guess Ford has monkey arms too.)
Do we want to start another thread?
fair enough, will find oneIndiana Holt wrote:you dont have to start a new thread about thelength issue again....

It could be just the opposite actually, he may have made your first Raiders to CS size and not the #000 size.Indiana G wrote:the first jacket in shrunken lamb (the one sold to indiana williams) was very tight in the chest and quite short. i believe that tony may have misunderstood my request for HF sizing to be for the 1981 HF, not the CS HF sizing. i could still wear the jacket due to the nature of shrunken lamb and it's plasticity, but the fit was off on my frame.

I suspect when the CS measurement is used on the Raiders jacket with higher arm holes, it made the chest tighter on you.Indiana G wrote:if thats the case RC, then the two models differ in fit more than i thought
