Why would they need to do this? Isn't the old phrase "measure twice, cut once?" If the sleeve ordered is 26 inches the sleeve recieved should be 26 inches. If they send a photo and say the sleeve is 25 inches they still messed up. Plus it leads to people saying they don't want their jacket even though they haven't seen it in person. Bad business.

I asked Peter what he meant about a new project on the horizon, and if I should just let him hold onto my money until the new jacket is released, whatever that is. No resonse as of yet. and of course the tracking number just says its been accepted into the system, so no idea if its even arrived yet. Sigh.

Thats just my best guess. Gemma didnt say how far along the jacket was when she told me it was being made the other day. With the weather getting warmer, Im more concerned about the pants someone is hemming for me.

According to Gemma, the jacket will be sent out Monday, and the postal refund will be after that. I had sent another email to her asking when she thought my jacket would be ready considering that its too hot to wear now.

The wait is on...(well, the wait continues to be exact.)

I just hope I still got the authentic sliders, and that the jacket is right. Of course, Im so much closer to TOD shape now than I was back when I ordered it. I think I lost 2 pants sizes.

Mine came today!!! \:D/ \:D/ I'm MUCH happier with this one than my last one, and I LOVE the washed goat! The fit is pretty good too! I'll take some pictures of the edtes and flaps and all that. The best part is they made this pattern for me new - since they didn't have a size 34 pattern before, and I think they scaled down the pockets too!

My faith in Wested is restored. HUGE relief!

I'll get a picture of me wearing it when somebody shows up (it's just me at home now) but here's some detail shots for you guys to pick on. I DID ask for a smaller gauge zipper - because I was afraid of losing a finger in the 8 gauge (and it was too big for me - I'm Nurhachi sized!).

Pictured with the jacket is an older (2005/6?) Lamb Raiders.

Well my jacket isn't really skin tight, but I really like the sleeves and distressing from that end of the movie jacket. I think it looks beat to pink flowers and that's awesome!

I think you need to wear it in, get it wrinkled up. :)
Push those sleeves up high fold your arms and read a book, watch TV or something.

What does it measure under the arms on the flat seam to seam?

What are the back and front lengths?

So envious. I hope that this jacket restores my faith in this costume. Between the shoes falling apart and the jacket being wrong, Im starting to feel pretty much done.

Shane,

Congrats!! That jacket looks great! As KT said, you'll love it even more once you've been wearing it for awhile. I love the washed goat hide too - it's perfect for this jacket. I can't stop wearing mine. Post some pics once you've gotten it wet. I haven't done that to mine yet - I'm on the fence about soaking it, but I have a feeling that I'll really love the wrinkled sleeves and enhanced texture once I do.

Wear it well!!! :D

Kind regards,
Craig

Wow, guys!! Thanks so much for the compliments! I'm really happy with this thing, and after the screw up with my last one, I'm even happier about this one.

RC - Back length 25," front length 26," arm to arm 17." Is that what you meant for the arms? Like armpit to armpit?

Joyce - hang in there, buddy!! My first ToD jacket (that I had to sell on eBay because I didn't like the leather and it was too big) made me feel similarly.

I've been working on the sleeves and I'll probably wear it tonight or keep it crumpled under the mattress, and maybe tomorrow I'll wet it.

Thanks Shane. I was wondering how the chest measurement worked out this time. For a 34" chest I thoght it might be abut 19" measurement, but what's important is it fits! Are you sure the front is longer than the back? Does that include the collar?

It does look good on you .
How are the sleeve wrinkles coming?

I got an email saying it was dispatched, but I didn't have a tracking number. It just showed up here by surprise!

RC - I have to confess I'm *terrible* at measuring clothes. Magnoli can attest to that.   So don't believe any numbers I mentioned. #-o

I think I'm going to hang on to the jacket the way it is for a little bit before I start "fixing" it. I'm liking this new jacket look, but I'm sure once the honeymoon period is over, I'll be aging it, or at least starting it down the path.

Shane I think all you have to do is wear it. Get the arms wrinkling up and the leather to ease a bit.

Ill try tomorrow. I think the other pics came out better based on daylight streaming into the windows. It came with the straps completely undone, and I have the straps snug right now, so that does make a difference. It feels much different.

However, I feel like the pockets are still too far away from the storm flap. Whatever. What do I know.
