Darn it...decided to check the mailbox late tonight instead of in the morning and noticed a failed delivery slip for an Express Mail package. Unless I am mistaken and its is work related...which I am not expecting. I think its me 44 ToD from Wested.

Now I'm not going to be able to sleep. ](*,)

The kicker is that I was home today so the carrier was being lazy and just put the slip in telling me I can pick it up at the post office instead of actually delivering it.

Arrrrrgh, I really hate when they do that.

That really *****! I would complain about the postman. Or find a big dog to chase him

Well, that gives me hope that the 44's are finally shipping. I hope the wait was worth it.

I do hate it when they do that. Just a few days ago, the doorbell rang. I went to the door (took only a few seconds to get there) and the guy was gone, leaving a package at my doorstep. I looked at it, realized that it wasn't my name on the package... and it wasn't even my address!!! So being the nice guy I am (that's right...) I picked it up and made my way over to the right address.

Is it just me or are these kinds of events happening more and more everyday?

I've had that happen. Report it. Ther is no excuse for laziness.
It's an Express especially. Call the USPS number, even now, and tell them it's an Express and imperative you get it. They can put it on an Express van for special delivery.

I caught one one time filling me out an 'attempt made' slip as I stood beside his truck! He hadn't even tried.

That's just wrong. What's so hard about dropping off a package at someones doorstep?

I am actually not too worried since I can pick it up first thing tomorrow as long as they don't attempt a second delivery. The post office is up the block so as long as I get the package before the carrier leaves, I should be good.

If not I'll have to leave a note on my door telling the carrier to kick on it until someone answers.

Hey Russian Raider, this is off-topic but I'm curious.....back when Indy IV came out, the news media said the Russian government made a big hoopla about the plot in Indy IV where the Russians were portrayed as the bad guys.....what's your take on all this?......are Indy fans in Russia offended by what happened in the movie?

I hope we wont get banned for off-topic. :) You know we have a communist party, they are, to say at least have some issues (with the head among other things) they encouraged people not to see Indy IV, because on their opinion it was anti-soviet and in some was anti-russian. They claimed that movie has no moral subplot, and it is dull and Russians in it is a joke and a parody. So from their POV it was absolutly a no-no.
But casual Russians took the movie very good. In fact Indy is popular and well known in Russia (he fought with Nazis, c'mon), and we understood the reason of using Soviets as a villians. After all it was a cold war back then, it was time of propaganda on both sides, so it is understandable. One thing that was bugged many it was not correct uniform of Soviet soldiers. I mean with all research, with all data availible to Lucas they created the uniform out of head. :( And it was very dissapointing, i mean even Hasbro made a action figure with correct uniform.
Oh and one more thing - Irina Spalko in Russian dubbing say some words in Ukrainian, her first word that she said in the movie was dubbed as "Pohodte" which means Wait! in Ukrainian. And this word is everywhere now, it is like a slang now. :)
BTW, we dont have official Indy trilogy dvd's in Russia. Only the 4th movie.

Since we are off topic, and it's Christmas anyway.

The movie 'the Russians are coming, the Russians are coming' must be popular too

Bear in mind, these folks are moving literally MILLIONS of items everyday at this time of year, and a lot of times they use temporary seasonal help in deliveries for Christmas. So as aggreviating as it is sometimes, let's cut them some slack this time of year. They're doing a whale of a job with what they have to deal with, if you think about it.

I do agree, and generally I think the USPS does a very good job of it.

The incident I related though wasn't at this time of year, just an example of a very lazy carrier. they get away with it repeatedly if not reported. That particular fellow had developed quite a record, on various routes. Because of the system he couldn't be fired and now has a cozy inside job, probably his goal anyway.

Have a great day!

Understood.

Yeah, unfortunately there are those type employees in every situation. They tend to get tenured in their jobs, and after that, they coast until they retire.

It just makes it hard on the rest of the folks working with them.
