Let me guess. It looks really worn out, has bad stitching, and has a label that says Berman and Nathan?

yeah...I think Peter made a mistake. It came with a note saying "Thanks, just don't ever sell it"....But the devil on my shoulder is saying otherwise, oh what to do!

Any idea how many of the 65 are left?
or will there be more than 65 if more 'hardware' is found?

guys,
anyone noticed that on the Wested page:
> As several area are glued and not topstitched the heavier skin are not usable at this time.
Glued? not stitched? Which parts are glued?? Does anybody know more? Would like to order a ToD jacket but am unsure about that glueing...
TFG.

I noticed that, but didn't give it much thought. Interesting though; If Peter reads this, perhaps he can fill us in on the details?
I know it will be a while yet, but I'm checking my mailbox every day for any sign of my Temple jacket.
I have a feeling this will be the last leather jacket I'll ever need.

I think the end of the sleeve (at the wrist) is glued. Also there is no stitch at the bottom of the jacket. May be I'm wrong.

the hem of the jacket comes not with a stitch like the raiders jacket does.it is folded over and glued.
Posted: Fri Nov 07, 2008 8:53 am

Is that like the hem of the Last Crusade jacket, Holt?
I think the stitchless hem of the LC looks great. Glad the TOD is similar!

I'm in the midst of ordering one of these for a friend as a Christmas present, but what confuses me is that they're charging a 20£ surcharge for having one of these made in black lambskin?
If it was made in horsehide, or some kind of special lamb, I'd completely understand, but for black lambskin? Especially considering this is the same lamb they're using on other jackets with no surcharge? Doesn't this sound a bit unjust?

Supply and demand, I'm sure.
Example, I need a new rubber windshield gasket for the Plymouth. They're all pretty much the same, as rubber is rubber, but due to the fact there's less demand for MOPAR gaskets, a replacement gasket will cost me $180.
If my car were a Ford or GM, it would only cost me $65.

And not trying to get off topic (but doing an excellent job), if you need parts for your Chevy 350, you can drown in them. For my Mustang's 289, I have to pay a little more.

That's sheep. Weren't you around when we discussed the difference between lamb and sheep?!?

the sample doesn't look like it has them either. Maybe it's a mistake on the web page?

Have another look, I think the reference to facings has been removed, it doesn't have them.

Not sure if this was covered already, but can we be assured that these particular jackets are made in the UK as they should be, or is he having these made in India? I remember hearing that Peter outsourced making the jackets now. True, or only partially true? Won't buy one if they are

As far as I know, because these are custom sized, (and because all the hardware is at the Barn!) these are being made in the UK.
But if in doubt, ask Peter.

Absolutely correct, and I

No ALL custom jackets are made UK. See wested.com

ETA...anyone?...so anxious!

We're all anxious. That's a funny word, by the way...anxious. Look at it. It doesn't look right, but it is! Anxious....
Anyway, who knows? I would hope Peter would simply produce the jackets in the order that they were, er, ordered.
It wouldn't be fair to bump down earlier orders just to put this new high profile jacket in front, not that any one has suggested that would happen.
I bet Peter is keen to get the TOD out though, and seen on the COW forums. They'll disappear once some good pics start to appear.
It's been one week and a few days since I ordered. I'm hoping it'll only be a few more.

I'm really not thinking about the wait to be honest. I figure since it's a custom it will take at least a month or more to be made/arrive anyway, so i've allowed myself time to kinda forget.

"forget" you must be joking....man, I am tempted to hijack a plane, fly over Peter's house, parasail down, hold him at gunpoint, force him to make my jacket, then stay for tea and crumpets...Sorry Pete, just jokin...so, if you do see a guy parasailing over your house, run man...run for your life!

I can be patient if I believe it to be worth it. Then again, it's fast becoming an 'instant gratification only' world.
I've heard Aussies complain about the wait on an in-stock Federation - even using standard mail it would seriously take an absolute maximum of 3 days!

Back in the other now closed thread KT mentioned that Peter was planning something special for the temple jackets that was going to make folks want to get them early.
I have not seen anything more on this now that they are on sale. Any word KT? Is it something that went by the wayside, missed, or is it still to be revealed? I remember it was mentioned other than the hardware. Thanks.

I thought that was the hardware...that is, there was enough original hardware for 60 or so jackets, before Peter would revert to something less accurate. If it's something different, then awesome, glad I got my order in early!
On a side note, I do hope this jacket will be consistant. I hope we all get good collars, and good pockets etc. They should all be cut exactly the same, I would hope, except for sizes. Not some getting scalloped pockets and others not, that sort of thing.. I asked Peter for no special requests, just make it look just like the prototype which looked so good on KT!

I know the feeling! I have a Todd's custom waiting in the wings and the TOD from Wested on the way. Right now all's quiet on the eastern and western fronts! The anticipation is killing me though!

Thanks, I was thinking about it the other day wondering what it could be, as I remember KT making a point of it.
Any word Peter or KT? Is it the first 5? Any hints?
Maybe a special personally signed certificate, accompanying photo of the original jacket, or special numbered embroidered tag?
