It is, but I'm not sure we'll ever know who was all "responsible". In the end we had a great movie with some great whips. If you're a Jacka, a Strain, or a Morgan fan you can own one of the whips involved in Indy IV. And that alone is pretty cool.

They probably used three makers as a safety net in case they needed a quick repalcement. If you had one maker & he wasn't available it may shut production down for a while. Just a guess though.

In any case, what Anthony was using just looked living like it could uncoil & strke on its own. Pretty wild how the fall & popper can slice through glass & not get shredded itself.

Really was a treat to see all of that. Even the tank.

Sounds like the show was awesome. Thanks to you guys, I altleast have a little insight into how the show went. Hopefully, they will sell the epsiode on DVD ;-) .

I thought the show was really good. I enjoyed the shooting and archery aspects a lot, but the knife and whip segments are what I was really looking forward too. I thought everyone did a great job, the whip work was very smooth, standard De Longis fare with some nice target work too. I especially liked the work done on horseback as thats something I don't do since i don't have a horse

. It was really nice seeing David Morgan, Meagan and Alex getting some recognition too, talking about the whips they make and David doing a few cracks.

Anthony was using his Terry Jacka whips, mostly the long handled models, but also his 10 ft Indy 4 bullwhip. Maybe LionTamer can add in on his experiences since he was there during the filming.

Regarding the Indy 4 whips. Basically, The 16 ft long stunt whips used in the warehouse where made by David Morgan & co. as where the whips sent to Harrison Ford and to the advertising Department. Those where ordered eary in preproduction. They also had a couple of old Morgan bullwhips from the Lucas film Archives on hand. There is a neat Prop segment in the Special features bonus DVD that shows of one of the crew in Hawaii examining either a one of the older Morgan’s or one of the Joe Strain whips, while he has one of the Jacka whips coiled on his shoulder. When Anthony De Longis was brought into the project and it was decided that new whips where going to be made, he went with Terry Jacka, his go to guy for whips. They didn’t have that many Jacka whips though, only 6 or 7 all together and at least 2 of those where 8ft, so It was then decided that the stunt guys needed or wanted extra whips too. They then went to Western Stage props, who contracted them out to be made by Joe Strain. You can see one of these whips that Joe made, just as The “stunt” Indy jumps from the Duck over to the Russian Jeep filled with soldiers.

Thanks for confirming the DM sighting, Dan. I *KNEW* that was a David Morgan in the Hawaii shot! Yesterday I was sitting on the floor, oiling my DM while watching the bonus materials disk, when I spotted it. I grabbed the remote and freeze-framed it just to be sure, and then posted it here: viewtopic.php?t=31574
