Not sure about this. Kim would have to answer, but he's on a summit in Denmark right now...
A wallet with the Staff of Ra emblem would be really nice.

It would seem that Indy, unlike us here at COW, never used a wallet. At least not in any scene I remember. Perhaps someone should design one - perhaps a special COW one. Might be some interest in this.

While I do not have to pay VAT taxes for shipping something to the U.S., alone the shipping (of an UN-INSURED package) is 25.90 Euro (round about 35.75$) so unfortunately I cannot offer a better price for you guys in the U.S. this time...
This is something that has me puzzled. When Marc ships me something, it costs him around 60 bucks to ship to the USA. But, I can ship to him for less than 20 bucks!!! Not only is the tax system set up in Germany to impede small business, but the shipping is as well. I don't get it, but man I am so glad I live in the USA. It is hard to do business in Germany and be competitive. Take the Hj ribbon that Marc gets us for our hats. If that ribbon was available over here, I could get it for 50 cents a yard. I think I pay 10 bucks a yard, due to the taxes and shipping to get it here. Marc does not make a penny off of me buying my ribbon through him.
Marc, I think you need to relocate to the US! You could actually make some money if you did. Each time I hear small business complain over here..........all I have to do is think of how it is in Germany! Fedora

It's rather 66.24 bucks to ship an insured package to the U.S. now (due to the weak Dollar - which is no good for me in any way
).
Prices have gone up CONSIDERABLE over here, since the D-Mark was taken off the marked for the benifit of the Euro. One Euro is round about two D-Mark, but most shops just changed the DM sign to Euro to double their profit
I think I pay 10 bucks a yard, due to the taxes and shipping to get it here. Marc does not make a penny off of me buying my ribbon through him.
Yeah, one would think that I would make a fortune on you, but here it is - black on green - that I charge Steve exactly what I pay for the stuff. Heck, I had an inquiry on two Aviator hats the other day and due to the lack of 1" vintage ribbon for the brim binding, I asked our ribbon supplier, if he could custom make some Indy ribbon in 1 3/4 and 1"... Well, I got my reply yesterday: round about 330 bucks for both
I could get myself a nice Wested for less!!!
Marc, I think you need to relocate to the US!
From a hatters point of view, this would certainly make sense. Heck, when I look at how many hats I've sold by now and then how much it actually COST me to make them, there's absolutely no sense in carrying on, but telling you guys that this hobby can be quite expensive doesn't make any sense neither, right

Marc

This is terrible! I am a Canadian and a good number of years ago we switched to Metric. At this time they were able to jack the price of gas up because it was now in Litres not gallons so people did not notice. This really is evil and boy it sounds like Germany got the short end of the stick on this one. I taught in England for many years and they were hellbent on not ever getting the Euro and maybe for reasons like this. Right now in Canada the Canadian dollar just hit par with the US dollar - actually it was a little higher. Many products, like say books and magazines have 2 prices on them - one for Canada and one for the US. The Canadian price can be up to 40% higher. This was always to account for the poor Canadian dollar. But now that the dollar is on par no one is rushing to lower the prices.

One liter of gas is round about 1.35 Euro over here (ca. 1.86 bucks). Or in other words: one gallon is a little over 7 bucks. 73% of this is taxes...
Guess this pretty much says everything.

I hope the higher cost of living means you make more money. $1.86 a litre! OUCH! People here complained when it hit $1. One thing that spending my summers in England for the past 13 years did for me was to give me an appreciation for how cheap many things are in North America. Even just a regular cup of coffee or a sandwich. What is your profession - other than hatmaker?

Yes it will hold a 1917 with an uncut barrel. The trigger guard is just below the edge of the holster and the flap will easily cover the grip.

Marc, You see his wallet several times in the deleted scenes where he is buying a chocolate bar and 3 Spfinx-postcards for Marion in a Cairo bazar.
The scenes where deleted because they did not actually do anything for the plot. Like the scenes with Marion in the Merry-go-round and Sallahs trip to the barbershop....
No, I'm kidding. Dont trust me on this one

Thanks for the info. Heard great things about your work and also know the hats are not your main source of income so it is great to get a bit more info about you. I think you might find a wallet does quite well, like the COW coin. A unique piece for Indy collectors. I have no idea what period wallets looked like though. I used a leather wallet for years - the kind that folds in half. Problem for me was I jam so much into my wallet it becomes too thick to close or when I get it in my pocket it then opens up and is impossible to get out. Finally I gave up and bought a nylon trifold wallet with velcro closers. Not as nice as leather but very practical.

If you're talking about a simple bifold wallet, with, say, 3 slots or so on each side, I would definitely be interested. Some subtle tooling and contrast stitching like you've got on the holster wouldn't be bad either....

Yes Marc. It seems we did post at the same time. I laughed at your response to the jammed wallet comment. Didn't think about it when I wrote it. I think the bigggest problem are all the cards I collect - ID cards, movie watcher reward points, AAA card, plus those annoying cards you get when you return something and they can't give you cash. Boy i find those a hassle. So my wallet just bulges sometimes but not usually from wads of cash....

Kim is already working on the first orders. Some minor things needed to be corrected yet, but this will all be fixed on those we sent out. Pics of the final holster will be up soon
Due to the even higher taxes in Denmark than in Germany, we decided to have the holsters send from my place, in order to keep the price at 99 Euro shipped.
